Outgoing? SANDER BERGE ON WAY OUT ?

Wouldn't be at all awkward the prince asking his uncle for 35 mill quid to buy sander

Why should it be? My uncle walks into my house and says 'I really like that what you have'. I tell him 'yeh I got it from x, paid about x for it'. You might want to try there but if you really like mine I might be prepared to sell it to you, but I want x+y for it as I really like mine'. A lot more money involved and this also includes separate business entities with audits and legal implications for underselling assets, but the same principal applies.

If one party want something off another, then they pay the asking price or they don't get it. We need to ensure that the asking price is top dollar if Newcastle come calling as everyone else would do the same. I can't see this happening anyway until possibly the summer then if SB has proved his fitness and ability again then I could see this being a goer.

Yes, Newcastle need players who are going to make an immediate impact to make sure they stop up.
Development players or people coming back from injury probably not what they will be focussing on in Jan.

This thread is dafter than most of the covid threads.

So Newcastle, the richest club in football, plan to find the solution to their sub standard midfield, sitting on the bench of a mid table championship team. I think they will be shopping a little further upmarket than that

I am not certain you are right. Yes they will be aiming higher, but there are not a lot of quality players available in a January window and those that are will not want to be in a relegation fight with the prospect of Championship football.
Paying silly wages will not easily work under the current restrictions on finance.

Berge will be a great player albeit that will probably be for a different team. If we sell him then so be it, I have absolutely no confidence that we will reinvest any of the funds after Jim Royles ‘you won’t see me or the prince around anymore’ press conference

That thread is funny as fuck - the stupidity of football fans!

“He has premier league and championship experience” - He’s looked crap, but perhaps they also know that’s because;

We always play him in the wrong position whichever position we play him, that three managers have been at fault, that the players around him were all crap even when they performed better than him, that our fitness team can’t get him fit enough to compete, that the ball moves too fast for him to tackle, and that it’s too hard to expect him to head it. 😂

Did Sander berge ruin your childhood or something ?

He’s just cost us £30m in wages and fees, and simply not been very good. 👍😀
He's surrounded by a squad full of players who have cost similar or have been just as poor but I don't see you obsessing on threads about them

Because people don’t create thread after thread explaining that the likes of McBurnie are only shite because those around him are injecting him with drugs, or force feeding Mousset with burgers.

You’d hope that we would be in a position to extract value if Newcastle did come in for him….

Hold firm and let a newly minted club with pressing desire for signings and a poor league position weakening their negotiating position pay up.

He’s yours for 35/40m and see what happens

Or in other words you aren't consumed by hatred for anyone else

Putting your own obsession with me to one side, I think they’ve all been a bag of shite in equal measure.

As I said (but beyond you to grasp), the numpties aren’t falling over themselves to apologise for McBurnie or Mouset though, so there’s no point to pick up on.

Your right is it beyond me to grasp how you only come on here to put people straight who actually think berge is a good player but you don't have to about anyone else because everyone thinks they are shit anyway

Because that would lead me to believe you are basically a black hearted misanthrope who can't stand to see anyone excited or happy about anything so I guess I must be to stupid to understand

Okay lovey 😂

if the newcastle rumours of gayle + money it wouldnt be the worst deal.

It wouldn't be our worst deal but it wouldn't be far off
gayle is proven in the the championship 59 goals in 100 games. getting 13, 23 & 23 in his 3 seasons

to get him for free with money as well would be a good scenario

Wouldn't be for free would it ? He would be valued in as part of the deal
So we'd get less for berge and another 30 Yr old striker we don't need meaning less to spend in areas we do need to strengthen

i love him, but billy sharp is still our 1st choice striker, we do need to strengthen

We've got seven strikers on the books
Mousset - great but injury prone
Mcburnie & Burke - awful
Brewster - finally got form & got injured
Mcgoldrick - is more a playmaker than a striker

whose the 7th because even sheff utd website only has 6

If Berge goes then the money will go to paying off what we still owe on him, the player and agent and previous club get a cut I’m not entirely sure how much is left over some of these transfer fees are paid over the length of the contract so he’s roughly 50% paid for on a 4 year deal based on that we may need to get £11-12 million for him just to settle up.
