MANAGER SACKED

Bizarre timing but i actually think this is the right decision.

He's made no impact, obviously cannot motivate these players. Still chopping and changing formation and players half way through the system shows he's no closing to figuring this out than he was at the start of the season.

If Farke is available then we have to make him out our number one target.
Please no, not Mr Helium.

PBoro home, Hull away. We have played some nice attacking one touch football against against few teams this season.

It's defensively we have been utter bollocks. Not sure how only allowing a manager a handful of loan players were going to fix everything.
dont agree , in this day and age theres lots of contract free players available to bring in

even the pigs are doing ok with a wide selection of freebies and untried players

slav was incapable of finding or searching for a couple of players by this route

Wilder got us 4 great years on 5 magic beans and a house brick for oconnell to head
then some one gave him money and it all went to shit

forgive me but this idea we need to spend a fortune to get better is pie in the sky

I don't understand the outrage to be honest. People entitled to opinions by all means but blimey

Have you actually enjoyed any of the games this season? Hull away maybe, i'm struggling after that. It's been very poor. The club have acted decisively be that right or wrong, they've acted swiftly, if they haven't seen enough to warrant backing Slavisa in January then it's right to part ways and give someone a chance to come in, assess the squad for themselves and identify what they want in January to impose their system. Whether we can afford that is a different matter.

From what i've seen and his interviews it seems Slav gave the players freedom to go out and play on impulse, the best we saw from the squad was when we were organised and everyone knew what their role was and where to be in every situation.

Heckingbottom looks likely in the interim and he actually managed to get some results with the majority of this squad. Let's see how the performance is on Sunday but if its anything other than seeing how many times we can get between our area and theirs before losing it or kicking it out of play it'll be a marked improvement

This squad has been found wanting under three different managers now. If the owner believes that the gaffer is the issue then he shouldn't be running a football club.

If we've said we can't give him any money to spend because we don't trust him to replace the (painfully obvious) weak links in his inherited squad then I'd be lost for words.

Exactly 3 different managers same inconsistent results. At least attacking wise we have seen glimpses of what Slav was trying to achieve.

If true then it's a terrible decision imo.

My money would be on hecky till Blessin comes in. Doesn't he qualify now? Think he's done 2 years at ostende. Which would be enough points wise unless something has changed.

No but loan players aren't free either. Olsen must be on a decent whack and we actually paid a loan fee for Ben Davies. I think a lot of blades thought this squad was good enough to compete with a few additions to it, sadly it hasn't worked and hindsight is a wonderful thing.

SJ has always wanted wingers and we couldn't even get him one. This squad only needed a few additions if Wilder was going to stick around and lead us in the Championship.

Possibly not, but we shall have to wait and see, given that he will be in charge. It will be interesting to see how the players react on Sunday whoever is the choice. I`ve had the feeling for a while that the players haven`t been happy with Slav`s set ups.
Probably not happy because they are not capable or good enough for what he expects

What do you think the reason is though? They haven't turned into gash players overnight, could it be motivation? no?

Man managing and organisation have been key factors in the success we had. Heckingbottom got 3 wins in 15 or so games, considering we'd only won 4 all season to that point i'd say he found a way of motivating them to a degree.

As I said in my post, when we were set up and organised it worked. Once we spent big money on fancy dans it stopped working.

But where would you get the wingers he wanted on the budget we had available? Fulham had Sheyi Ojo and Ryan Sessegnon supporting Mitrovic, we don't have that quality available and certainly don't have the resources to go out and buy it without shifting some big earners off the books. Berge, Brewster and McB all have little to no resale value based on performances, where are we drumming up the cash?

Jokanovic is a good manager, on paper was the best option for the job.

I think he and the club genuinely believed we only needed a couple of signings and new league, new tactics players would rediscover form of 18 months ago etc

Since then we've made a hash of recruitment and have seen SJ struggle to get a tune out of the squad.

Getting the best out of the team this season shouldn't be the main motivating factor behind any new manager

Regardless of who gets brought in, it doesn't change the fact we are in transition and probably need a 50% squad churn to set ourselves up for progress in the next couple of years. This is crucial. If we dont get this right we'll end up being a lower half championship team and possibly flirt with relegation.

We won't need wingers now ....

did you miss last season
what's your answer though?

release 23 players and try replace them all under Slav?
It's been awful this year be that players under performing, a manager failing to come up with a system to suit the players he has at his disposal. I'd expect a top level manager being paid 2 million a year to find a solution with the players we have available and we saw glimpses against utterly tripe teams.

Like i said everyone entitled to an opinion and I won't insult you by trying to change yours.

My opinion on the matter is for the birds. I do firmly believe that teams work in cycles and must be constantly replaced and refreshed in order to improve. We haven't adequately replaced and refreshed for three transfer windows now thus the squad is stale. But that's just an outsider's view from a fan.

Rewriting history a bit on Heckingbottom. How many of the young lads did he actually bring through in the Prem for meaningful minutes? I can only think of Jebbison who's now out on loan at Burton
Only needs one. He was the first to introduced N’Diaye but was stopped because of contractual issues. He’s played 3-5-2 for season to copy Wilder so knows how to play it.

Exactly. A handful of loan players was never going to fix much.

The footballs been shite under Jokanovic and we were hoping eventually he’d turn into Slav of Fulham days 3/4 years ago. I want a manager who’s on the up right now. I said it you’re thinking it. I back Hecko, short term, don’t do a Ole @ Man Utd and employ after 2/3 decent results look at long term
