Yes, ole could revitalise this team. That's what they need. Only reason he lasted so long was because fergie ran it behind the scenes.

Considering the options he had available compared to most of the other Premier League managers some of their performances in the last couple of months have been absolutely rotten.

The gap isn’t insurmountable points wise but they’ve been left behind as a team now by Chelsea, Man City & Liverpool. Arsenal are the same, there was a time where Liverpool v Arsenal was always an excellent watch, the game on Saturday was as one sided as some of the games we played last season.

This is why clubs should not employ ex players as manager until they have a proven track record elsewhere in the lower leagues, and that doesn't always work as we well know.

Only if he can cherry pick their first team or swaps for Burke, Fleck, Norwood, Olsen et al

Very very unlikely but would you take ole at the lane?
Solksjaer has assembled one of the most expensive squads in the world, full of World Class players and has managed to get them to 8th position, 12pts off the leaders and a negative goal difference.

Imagine what he'd do with our squad and no money to spend

They haven't had more than one good central midfielder in the squad at the same time since Roy Keane retired

Pep or Klopp would have them top 2.

De Gea, Varane, Shaw, Maguire, Fernandes, Pogba, Rashford, Ronaldo, Sancho

That's a spine to build on there. A decent manager could sort them out.

Keane alluded to something other day that the players are doing to Ole what the did to Jose and are not turning up for him. Reckons the players got them both sacked, not the other way around. If that's the case, they need a very strong minded manager.

They need a proper box-to-box midfielder like Kante. Get shut of Fred n McTominay.

Maybe a decent right back too. Not too fussed on Wan-B.

de Gea
New RB - Varane - Maguire - Shaw
New CM
Pogba - Fernandes
Sancho - Ronaldo - Rashford

Which two squads out of City, Chelsea and Liverpool are United objectively better than and it just needs a new manager instead?
West Ham are only 6pts off Chelsea with a far inferior squad to Man Utd. It can and could be done.

Full of world class players?

Funny.

You have got to be joking. The most tactically inept manager of a top 6 club that has ever been employed. He will never manage again, unless in Norway,

Agree with this.
Ole was appointed to appease the Man Utd fans and steady the ship.
He’s a very likeable man and very popular amongst Man Utd fans, so you can understand why he was appointed.
It‘s like if our club was starting to fall apart and down on its knees , so we go out and appoint Brian Deane,
there would be an immediate support, goodwill towards him and a feel good factor.

I think Ole was only ever meant to be temporary, he’s lasted far longer than I expected.

Do you sprinkle cocaine on your cornflakes?

Ole as manager? No fucking way. Got all his jobs because of his name rather than his ability.

Full of world class players?

Funny.
Just because they're playing shit, doesn't mean they're not.

I named these players above, who when they perform (or want to) are World Class - De Gea, Varane, Shaw, Maguire*, Fernandes, Pogba, Rashford, Ronaldo, Sancho^

*has shown he can be World Class, but this season, he's more like bottom half PL standard
^was deemed World Class at Dortmund, but it just hasn't worked for him so far

I suppose you could argue they're not World Class because they can't show the consistency to do it week-in-week-out.

Would you consider Lionel Messi to be World Class? I'm sure you would, but, he's scored just 4 goals so far for PSG. His previous 10 seasons look like this:

SeasonGoals
2011-1273
2012-1360
2013-1441
2014-1558
2015-1641
2016-1754
2017-1845
2018-1951
2019-2031
2020-2138

I'd say he's not in form, but still World Class.

I just think the term world class gets thrown around too easily.

Pogba has not shown anything at Man Utd to be deemed world class. Rashford and Sancho have potential. Fernandes and Ronaldo possible are the only two I would say are world class.

Rest are just top players not performing but not world class.

We could though adapt their chant a bit,

"Slav is at the wheel,
Tell me how does it feel?
Bit wank to be honest with you"

Could catch on.

Managers should have some sort of strategy, a way of playing that has been coached into the players during training. This should involve the whole squad, so that if 1 player is missing a replacement can step in and do the same job. Watch Man Utd play and tell me what their strategy is and this is after 3 years of the same coach. He has no excuse for that. He can’t even say that he hasn’t had the money to spend. Guardiola, Klopp or Tuchel would, within 6 months have that squad structured and playing good football. They would buy players to fit the system not vanity projects like Ronaldo

Very very unlikely but would you take ole at the lane?
His man utd team had no identity, a flawed game plan, players that can't be arsed and are stealing a wage, he seemed to have no fucking idea as.to what was going on and has bought some seriously expensive flops......so yes, Ole is just perfect for us!!!!!
