Mousset

He has to take some responsibility for his fitness. Is it a lack of professionalism on his part, or a lack of guidance and control from the club?

I do not know how the club manage players but is it not reasonable to set parameters for fitness for each player with boundaries and targets. A range for say weight, cardio, speed, agility and stamina etc. tailored to suit the attributes required for each player and position.

A player should be tested regularly and if outside an agreed range, they should be required to do extra work, be given a strict diet plan to follow all under supervision. There will be some players that find this easy, say Basham and will have no issues, others like Moose will need to work harder and adjust their lifestyle to succeed, that's life.

I am sure a fully fit and resilient Moose would be a big player for us, and score a hat full of goals at this level (given the service).

If only he could stay fit. 😒

Unfortunately he must get fit to stay fit. Looking at his op field antics he seems to be taking the puss big time. IMO

Yeah, try staffing and managing that through a pandemic. Ok you don't like him, we get it. But lay off him FFS! The guys been through some shit.

Nope, driving down Eccy Road 1.45 loutside the Nursery.

Where the fuck is Lys Mousset? Was only supposed to be out for 6 weeks from the 7th August, be going on for 3 months soon.
Absolutely pinching a wage.

Slav said right after his injury that he would expect him back into training right after the international break, i think he was almost bang on with this assessment as he came back at the same time as Enda.

Rumour is we've been trying to offload him since start of last season due to him underperforming & his attitude issues

I mean I hate to be pedantic, but he's been out for 7 weeks and 4 days.
That's nowhere close to 3 months.

Any evidence of that at all?

f*ck him the fat c*nt. Its a waste time even talking about this guy
Take it the 14 in your username relates to your age?
Understandable post if so....

So did Burke. Slav really wasn’t up to speed at that point.

It would be good to see a fit Mousset back but that increasingly seems like wishing for a fit John Ebbrell or James Wallace.
The role for mousset this season while he is still contracted to us is probably as an impact sub if he can get himself match fit. Just accept he can’t do 90 minutes and maximise what he can do for the time he has left with us.

46 game season, no point in rushing him back. Same with Berge

Shame about Moose. Seems like a likeable lad, bags of talent.

He just doesn't have the off field discipline to be a professional footballer

Put him in the Ravel Morrison bracket of 'tosspots who have the talent but not the attitude' tray.

Both have more natural gift that Billy, but wont get anywhere near him

Imagine if Mousse could have the gift, and apply the professionalism of Sharp or Bash

Not everyone is suitable to professional football. I don't think it makes him a tosspot. At the end of the day it's his life and nobody made United pay the fee or offer him the contract

Translation....

2 Months soon, which isn't much longer than the originally stated 6 weeks.... but let's not exaggerate things eh.

100% agree

Im shit scared of heights

Thats why I never applied for a job as a highrise window cleaner

Sure if I did, and having been offered the job, my inability to get higher than a wheelie bin without the back of my knees turning to jelly would have driven me out of that profession and into something a little more suitable 🤣

High speed reckless kebabish driver required??

I said at the time, whatever the usual time for this type of injury we need to double it for moose.
I'll not be far off

So slav wasn't up to speed after pre season on who had attitude concerns or not ?
Sounds like bullshit to me mate

I have been told, and I have absolutely no reason not to believe the source's, that 2 of Mousset's friends play for Bradwell Rovers in the Hope Valley League, the day of the Hull game Mousset turned up at the Bradwell game with the 2 friends and his boots and pestered to get a game, he was refused obviously but was not impressed at being turned down. More than one person connected to Bradwell Rovers and who live in Bradwell (my village) have told me the same, I don't disbelieve them.

We’ve had this debate before. I know you don’t accept that Slav wasn’t ready or didn’t know the squad well enough for the new season, but I disagree. Starting Burke shows he didn’t in my eyes. As I think i said last time, it was like Robson starting Monty and Leigertwood in central midfield in 2007-8 when every Blades fan knew that combination, used already by Warnock, didn’t work.

This is not necessarily Jokanovic’s fault. If it’s anyone’s fault at all, the person who decided to do a preseason trip abroad in a pandemic was to blame.

And if you’ve never misjudged someone’s personality or attitude on first meeting them, you’re a better judge of character than I am.
