Didn't see the game, but listened in from about 30 mins in. We sounded okay, What'd you'd expect when playing a reserve side against a reserve premier League team. Not that fussed, main thing is we've got minutes into enda, ndiaye etc.

Yeah I think the squad is coming together. Pattern of play is emerging. I actually look forward to games now. Just need to tighten up a bit at the back.

That performance deserved a bigger audience, woeful support.

A few weeks ago no one would have believed you if someone told you we'd draw 2-2 at home to Southampton putting out a team with Stevens and McBurnie in the starting line up.

A few games later and look at the turnaround. The confidence is coming back into the team and squad, and we need the fans to find it too, rather than nitpick at certain players.

McBurnie played poor first half, average in the second with a good finish. Didn't hear any stick from the crowd though apart from the odd grumble as there always is.

Ndaiye cramped up again similar to previous games. Burke and Freeman off injured n'all, nowt serious looking.

Norwood or Wes motm, both had great games.

A decent effort overall. Southampton had some lively players. Hate to say it but I predicted correctly which of our players would miss their penalties. Never thought I would write this but my Man Of The Match was Ollie Norwood. Looked competent, controlled things and sprayed the ball around effectively.

I thought we played alright tonight and gave Southampton enough of a scare to bring on 3 first teamers additional to the few they already had on the pitch.

Brewster not amazing but looked more interested today than he did at Hull on Saturday. McBurnie did well and took his goal nicely- I heard the usual moans but not anything I’d call serious stick from the crowd. Freeman was anonymous, looks unfit and made of biscuits. Enda looked great initially, had a few errors but good to see him looking a lot better than he has been.

Someone always has to lose a shoot out. We’re lucky it’s only the fizzy drinks cup. On to Saturday UTB

Good effort from mostly subs and fringers, better than we were last season playing Southampton as a Premier League team, so more signs of Slav resuscitating us.

Glad Enda and McB scored, penalties is a shitter anyway, no point moaning about missed penalities, Billy missed one a couple of days ago so using it as a stick to beat players with is desperate.

Keeps us on a positive trajectory.

I've been tonight mate, and Mcburnie DID put in a good shift. He was dragged from pillar to post by their CH's and got no protection whatsoever from the ref.

Ndiaye, Norwood, Stevens, Osborn all played very well, as did Bash and Robinson. Wes made two superb saves, one at point blank range from a strong Adams effort. There's actually some cohesion in our attack. Yes Brewster fluffed his penalty, but McBurnie overall had a good game and doesn't deserve the vitriol. He was constantly fouled too and "their ref" gave us nothing. Positive performance against a strong Soton line-up.

Worst saying when describing someone’s performance is “put in a shift” It is used solely when someone is a really poor player, you have backed them to the hilt and keep doubling down on them, you want to be positive but really can’t describe how well they have played so go for the old favourite, put a shift in.

Totally agree with everything you've said mate. Billy misses a pen Saturday nothing gets said, Mcburnie misses tonight and gets nothing but dogs abuse!!!!
