Who the fuck with any brain cells is gonna buy McB or Brewster for millions , never mind pay their undeserved wages ?

I reckon every club in the championship would take Brewster and a lot of bottom half prem teams would also if we sold him at a bargain price

And mcburnie would also , Wolves wanted to sign him in the summer window just gone 👍

So yes someone would pay his wages

So why didn't they come in for him ? Why wasn't there a bidding war for a striker Slav would happily offload ?

He’s no Gary Madine, but he's hell of lot more likely to win a header than Sharp and Brewster

And Jimmy Greaves or Gerd Muller for that matter .

And does your definition of winning a header include all those that go aimlessly into the air and are easily picked up by the opposition ?

Is this the fella were talking about?

Just a few of points.
1. If you think we should be bringing on a forward to defend aerialy free kicks and corners etc. I dont see why you wouldn't just bring on a defender.
2. If you think McBurnie would make a centre half. Sorry based on his tackling ability and attitude I would think no.
3. If you think past performance of a few seasons ago automatically means that McBurnie is currently the best striker we have. Then sorry in my view past performance is no guarantee. Plenty of players have been hot and cold in their careers. Since we bought McBurnie we haven't seen evidence that he is prolific in front of goal. On a similar vein Brewster has shown even less.

I get that people want them to succeed and we all should but there seems to be constant agitating for specific players that for the past two seasons haven't delivered. I am quite happy for them to get a run of games to see where they are at. But the manager is in a tricky spot as a result of our start to the season, and the need to rapidly get points on the board Slav maybe going short term on what he sees in matches and training.

A fit Mousset is our number 1 striker by a country mile.

Mcburnie a run in the team and he is better than sharp

I don't 100% agree but it's a very good point. McBurnie on his own could work, I might be wrong but I think this is the position he played when he was 2nd top scorer the season before we signed him

Last night McBurnie comes out to warm up.

He spends 10/15 minutes talking to an opposition sub. He hardly ever watches the game, even when Preston have two quick corners in succession.

25,000 people engrossed in the game but not our hero McBurnie.

Did you also notice that he and Berge were laughing and joking with the other opposition subs when they scored and the smiles never left their faces? I know it's only a job to them but FFS show some respect to the fans.

I also saw Berge outside the chip shop at Banner Cross. He'd got gravy on his chips instead of curry sauce. No scraps either. Bastard.

No problem with gravy as long as there's no fish involved.

Was he contemplating getting “chips and fish”? That’d be the final sword.

I take it Bert (also) wasn't one of the engrossed 25k as he was on "our hero" surveillance duty 😉

Saying we should play McBurnie over Sharp, because he’s better at defending corners is like saying we should re-sign Tony McMahon because he’s better at scoring from free kicks than Baldock.
In a game agaisnt a team that plays a direct style, with big strong players and long throws, in a game Sharp was ineffective and arguably poor I don't think it is outlandish to suggest Mcburnie should come on.

How is any player gonna be able to show they can re-create any form sat on the bench ?

Sharp has scored 1 goal in 7 games also btw

McBurnie is Connor Sammon with hair and a beard. Not strong, not skillful, doesnt appear to have a football brain, no pace, poor at finishing. Whenever he looks like coming on from the bench or starting my first thought is - oh this game is going to be dull as fuck now.

I replied because as far as I could see I was the one who mentioned the defensive headers. Not the op. Neither i nor the person who commented specified starting.

I'm willing to give anyone a second chance under a new manager but the simple fact is that as long as we're creating chances like we have in the last two games that Sharp is basically a guaranteed 15-20 goals. Don't care what his age is. He could've had one in each game (aside from his less common assists) and I'll back him to keep dropping into those positions and do the damage.

A fully fit and firing moose is arguably the best striker in the division. He's just never in the right mental/physical place to play 90 mins. I'll be more amazed if he ever completes a full 90 min match.

We had a month or two of him showing his potential, and in that spell he was the most exciting centre forward I’ve seen since Brian Deane.

Sadly not so much as a flicker of life since.

Obviously he will have to put in serious effort in training and when he comes on as a sub until he starts a game. If he does that and performs then happy days.

Obviously we all would think that Billy's best days are behind him. But if he is keeping other strikers out of the team that surely tells you something about the managers views on their ability and attitude.
