Whilst I understand everyone’s protestations we don’t have cat in hells chance of holding on to him. Our (supposedly Wilders) shit wage structure int PL and therefore at this level mean any approach from a PL club with treble, quadruple, whatever, his wages and he will want away from a dysfunctional club sitting next to bottom of efl. Around him are failed signings earning tonnes more than him that can’t score even at this level or can’t get off the treatment table and they’re all ahead of him. I predict he’s gone it’s just who will stump up best worse offer and we won’t have say, he’s already refused Beerscholt so in his mind he’s off there will be no loyalty as per rammers

That's why you don't sell at this point. You sell players at the right time.

I agree. The problem is we haven't managed to get him out on loan yet. It's stuff like this people should be angry about. Why is he still here if we aren't going to use him and clubs want him?

Did he just not want to go to Belgium? (fair play, I changed my uni course to avoid it but that was when it was just grey and boring!)

It's ok us showing off about our academy but sitting behind this keyboard but it all seems a little bit of a mess at the moment sorting all these youth players out with loan moves. I would have thought it would be a simple case of offering them to L1 or L2 teams respectively.

Can you not put two and two together. We paid a £500k loan fee for ben davies from liverpool. Us a club in the championship with parachute payments and about to sell a player for £24m paid £500k for a player from liverpool. We are charging a league 1 team £1m to take an unproven youngster on loan. Can you not see how stupid and corrupt this is
Corrupt ?

Seems to me we’re getting our knickers in a reyt old twist about a player that’s played about the sum total of two games for the first team and we don’t really have an idea about how good he actually is. It also seems very hard to grasp that we have a £40m shortfall to make up. If we can’t move on Berge for the right price then other players are going to have to be sacrificed to allow Slav the players he needs. We have a big, bloated squad that’s about 5 or 6 players too heavy - oh and they also happen to be quite well paid for the most part with seemingly no interest from elsewhere in taking them off our hands.

If we get an offer like £8-10m for Jebbo then I think we need to face the reality that he’s probably going. It’s shit losing your young players without seeing what they can do. Unfortunately relegation puts us in a shit position too. Sadly I think that’s the reality.

We can offer him L1/ L-2 but at same time high wage spending PL clubs are offering riches and better opportunities to sit ont sidelines whilst rubbing shoulders with real stars and to play and train with state of the art facilities not a leaking cow shed

You not seen all the reports. This is why all those lg1 clubs that wanted him have gotten nowhere. Cause they can’t afford him due to us trying to ship off to beerschot
Genuine question; do you believe every single rumour bandied about?

If a premier league club comes in with a big offer only the deluded think any championship club would reject it.

He may be the next DCL or he may be the next Jordan Slew. The fact that Slav sees him as our 5th/6th choice striker would suggest more likely the latter
Trusting Slav's judgement is a big ask currently. Slew never played at the level Jebbison's already played at and didn't look out of place.
The wider issue is why we are getting stories about players leaving when surely the opposite is a tad more pressing.

Lets be Honest, we bottled the rammers sale by a few million so tryna make that money. This is why all of a sudden we’re leaking to press about all strikers being available at the right price

He's just signed a 4 year deal. How can they force us to sell for cheap? We hold all the cards on this one

Maybe this will be the old classic “hey we tried to sign some players (who were way out of our reach) and didn’t manage anyone but look we didn’t sell X either”

Do not under ANY circumstances sell Jebbison especially to those twats at Everton. They can have Berge but not him.

I'm fed up reading articles from them and Unsworth gloating on how they got Calvert-Lewin on the cheap. They can fuck right off.

I really hope he plays tonight and scores a couple and forces his way into the reckoning.

If Brewster is able to attract a bid of 23m then this kid is worth 50m.

Brewster is lucky as hell the season ended with a new manager coming in because he's done naff all to force himself back ahead of Jebbison.

I'd have him and Sharp as our two must have strikers. Any combination of the rest can go for me.

I’d have him and Brewster start tommorow. Rooney has said he’s playing youngster so no point risking sharp. It might help brewster being the more senior striker

Whilst it was heartwarming to read on here before the season that Brewster and McBurnie would suddenly become the new Keegan and Toshack / Shearer and Sutton and tear the Championship apart with bags of goals , my son and I both felt that the combination most likely to score goals , upset defenders and create chances for others would be Sharp and Jebbison .

I have seen nothing since which changes that opinion and the idea that we should either send the latter out on loan or even sell him is quite ridiculous , but at the same time so reminiscent of the appalling way in which we have underestimated our young talent down the years , with the notable exception of the great John Harris .

Short of selling him off for a massively undervalued figure because we needed to make ends meet and no other players generated interest, it would be very Sheffield United to loan him to Sunderland, him fire them to promotion and we get relegated because those remaining couldn't hit a barn door between them.

Slav is gradually seeing the light. We need Jebbo to help out with this today.

He arrived and saw 8 strikers, probably needs half that and saw Jebbison and thought I need to find a way for this kid to get games.

Well, 4 games in and he's seen:
1. Mousset pull his usual disappearing act. Maybe unlucky, but years of being unprofessional catching up on him.
2. McGoldrick show what a profligate finisher he is, guilty of a miss as bad as anything Verrips did at West Brom and having 5 efforts at Swansea with nothing to show. Does he practice shooting or is it just something he does on a Saturday?
3. Burke show pace then run the ball out to no effect and he's now listening to offers for him.
4. Brewster's total lack of spacial awareness and inability to cause any danger at all.
5. Tyler Smith, he's already letting go to Hull.
6. Sharp has shown he's the most adept finisher on the staff not to mention it was he who set up McGoldrick for that glorious chance at West Brom.
7. McBurnie who most of is are 50/50 on whether he'll come good though he can at least win balls in the air and should have played at West Brom.
8. Jebbison.

On what has been evidenced this season, how anyone can put any of those first 5 over Jebbison is beyond me.

Don't just not sell him. Pick him. Rotate him with Sharp and McBurnie as our forward line. The rest can go.

The counter argument is of course , that he could turn out to be the next Jordan Slew so we should shit our pants and sell him for a few million and consider it a job well done ,

The reality is that , harsh as it may sound , we’ve already signed the new Jordan Slew at a cost of around £23 million and that the young player we have is much more likely to turn out to be something approaching the new Brian Deane . How much would he be worth in today’s market ?

Clearly the recruitment specialists at Everton , Leeds and at least one other PL club are thinking along the same lines , but what do they know ?

Exactly. I think those clubs still being PL clubs and us not is a clue.

If we sold him I think it would have a profound effect on the fanbase. It would signal same owd same owd just as in the McCabe days. There is also no substitute for fans seeing a player you've developed yourself doing well in the first team. Proper Jimmy Muir stuff!

I’ve never understood why unsworth was being hosted in the exec suites and boxes as much as he was a few years back. I get rolling out the red carpet a bit for former players but all unsworth does is tap up academy players should’ve been launched out on his ear long ago.

Hey guys any chance of a invitation for an ex Blade to come say hi... Oh while I'm here I'm just going to pop over to the U23s training, don't mind me
