This start lies squarely with Slav , is it a coincidence that at Watford/Fulham he’s had poor starts then picked up

I’m baffled at his refusal to play his best players and stick with the same old dross

Aren’t you the one who was begging Wilder to start No Hands?

Agree re Verrips. Chelsea away springs to mind yet he ends up finishing the season in the England squad. Plus it could hardly have been ideal preparation for the lad, especially facing this West Brom team.

And regarding Davies, well Liverpool will be happy co he'll be getting a lot of practise!

Who are his best players? On this seasons and last seasons evidence only 3 to 4 of the current squad could be said to be certain starters.

I would have thought that if we want to build a young attacking possession based team then it isn’t rocket science to play players like

Mcburnie-Brewster-RND-Bogle-Berge

We should be building a team around those players instead of playing Osborne/baldock/sharp/Fleck

Never said that last season Brian

Merely said verrips earned rave reviews and nearly kept emnem up last season in the eredvise

A league which I would say is better quality than the Championship

Extremely harsh to right him off on his debut against probably the most physical team in Europe , talk about baptism of fire

And yes he was wank last night

Who are these best players?. You see peoples " Squad for Saturday " threads and they look dreadful.

I would give RND a go...and Bogle to see if they can improve things.....Berge has to play but needs to pick it up. But we could do with selling him to allow us to buy. Brewster has shown nothing so far but we should give him a run of games to see if we can get him firing.
McBurnie....sorry on that one. I can't see him doing much for us. I dont rate him. But let's get him on the pitch as a starter and hopefully he can make a contribution.
Baldock isn't our problem....its Norwood and Fleck. Then it's the strikers...with loads of options but all of them having serious flaws.

You don’t rate mcburnie because he has played in the worst premier league team in years and when we were decent was there to rugby tackle defenders if you look at his Swansea season he’s an all round striker who runs with the ball

Brewster can only be judged once he’s had a run in the team which I’m not sure he’s gonna get as a striker anyway

You are putting your view about what you think I I think out there as if its fact.
I dont rate McBurnie for the following reasons. He is hold up play is average....he can't mix it physically with defenders with out fouling. His attitude on the pitch is poor as he gets involved too much in silly stuff. As a finisher he is average. Yes he had a great season with Swansea. But that was 1 year over 3 years ago.
Other than that year in his career he has done fuck all. Including our first season in the PL when we did well. So he ain't the messiah.

As for Brewster. He has shown nothing in the year that he has been here. The reason to give him a chance to turn it around is because he is young and we paid a lot of money. So hopefully by being patient we could come good. But that looks like 50/50 at the minute.
