Incoming? Amad Diallo

If we play 4-2-3-1 as is SJ's preferred system, we have nobody to play the wide roles.

GK
Baldock - Egan - Davies - Osborn (although i'd like to see RND)
Berge - Norwood
Winger* - McGoldrick - Winger*
Brewster

Let's say Norwood is replaced by Garner and one of the wingers is Diallo, then we're not far off are we.

He's been trying Brewster on the left. Whilst he seems wasted out there, if he can get used to the position, we could look like this:

Olsen
Baldock - Egan - Davies - RND
Berge - Garner
Diallo - McGoldrick - Brewster
McBurnie

Pretty much what I put on the team for Hudds thread in terms of formation. But I'd probably drop Mcgoldrick out for Freeman.

Its imperative we get at least 2 wingers in with skill and pace. Players that can drive with the ball.

But we can't use them unless the defense and midfield work it through the 3rds better to actually get them the ball and beat the press.

If I was in charge of transfer dealings at Man U I would be put off sending Diallo here on the basis of our performances so far.

Why? We are crying out for creativity so he would be guaranteed playing time, and it's still a fair assumption that we will get much better over time.

If they don't want their young players to evolve into hothouse flowers then sending them into a tough league, with a team that needs a bit of magic, might just be the best thing. Plenty of PL clubs have used the championship as a testing bed for their young stars, with worse teams than us.

I don’t think the strikers can take any blame unless they have chances. Didzy was the only good chance we’ve had in 3 games
Don't forget the 2 good chances at Swansea which he didn't manage to get on target

Just seen that Bolasie is currently a free agent! Not been linked like and reckon he'll command a pretty decent wage but imagine the scenes if we ended up bagging him AND Diallo!

Veira could have toughened us up and given us stability and structure, but this lad could change our season.

He might not be the answer to everything we lack but he ticks the majority of those boxes.

Originator, mixed reliability but to be fair he gets a few bits right.

I can’t remember anything from Swansea except the one that got called offside but even that was made by a striker (mcburnie) not a midfielder or wingback
The header at the back post from 6 yards out and the shot that he blazed over the bar from about 12 yard out. Both clear chances

We were told that we would be relying on loans, so you would expect they (the board) factored in that some of those loans would be expensive in the short term.
If the Prince is going to be a tight arse on loans too, then we haven't got much to look forward to.

Man Utd want money.... well that is a problem we didn't see coming. 😂

"So you sort 90% and we'll cover the remaining 10%. Deal?"

"Absolutely not"

"Hmm. 80/20, then!"

"Is this a piss take?"

"Okay okay. 75..."

"Fuck off"

"Get out!"

But look what we did for Henderson!!!!!

We aren't going to get loans from lower divisions, and players in higher divisions are on a lot of money.

I understand the splits of who pays what changes but if we want good players on loan then we are going to have to pay out.
