Its his Club, who should be putting it in ?

Its a Business Kev, your Business Kev .......

Surely it's OUR club? ;-)

What you say is actually right and it is therefore his perogative to decide just how much or how little funding he wants to provide and his decision isn't really any of our business

He talked a lot about the need to take time over decisions like this. What happened with Blackwell then?

Learning from his mistakes?

I personally would have had Adams in today and not made my decsion, however he shouldn't have given any comment to the press.

I dont have a problem with them considering their options, after all it has to be right 'cos they have no where to go next.

Agreed, apart from he wont be supplying anything, he will be loaning it, more Internal Debt, a little more back tracking

Owd Kev aint quite got the hang of this yet, spiraling down and down

Anyone think that the reason he may be sleeping on it is because he's seeing who will be available and who would come to us before making a decision. He'd look pretty daft sacking MA with no one else to bring in.

Came accross as being totally fed up with the know nowt arseholes that constantly question his commitment to the club and snipe at him and his family from a safe hiding place.

Don't blame him one bit for it.

Too right. And of all the places to hide Belgium's hardly the most inspiring.
Great to see his commitment to the cause as we went down the shitter didn't involve seeing the manager for weeks.
Funny how the know-nowts have been calling right as we slipped into League One, ain't it.

That would always be the wise view before making a decision to sack a manager, as well as presumably working out what it'll cost

I think that may be why. When he sacked Blackie is seemed rash and quick (even though he should have gone earlier). He may have Trev ringing up a few clubs to see what is possible before he makes his move. This would all make sense if he is determined to get it right next season. As you say, it would be the wise and sensible move.

And I would imagine a big part of the discussion with Adams would've also been these questions:

a) What went wrong (in Micky's opinion)?
b) What can he do to put it right?
c) Who we keeping/ offering to get rid of?
d) Who do we need to bring in?
e) How much is it all going to cost?

McCabe

Sheffield United plc chairman Kevin McCabe will make a decision on the 'general reshaping of the club' by the end of the week after holding talks with manager Micky Adams.

"I've had a good session with Micky this morning talking through the whys and wherefores of what's happened and also talking through his thoughts and views on League One, the players we've got, their attributes and the youngsters.

"A decision of reshaping the club generally will be made in the next few days, but that's looking at all aspects of our club business.

"Whether we like it or not, we know we're in League One now and we've got to adjust to the constraints of revenue that go with that.

"I've not had chance to speak to Micky one-to-one for many weeks because I don't live in the UK. It's been the first opportunity to sit down and throw a ball about.

"He's a good manager, a very honourable man and works extremely hard and has inherited a squad here that was probably more difficult for him to work with than he envisaged when he joined."

First opportunity to throw a ball about? Hope Simonsen was not in the room. ;)

Were doomed ........................................

I reckon Mickey's had what amounts to another job interview this morning where he's had to present his plan for next season in terms of where he sees the potential of the squad and what needs changing for next year. I don't think Kev will want to change, but if he thinks Mickey's plans aren't up to scratch and he thinks there is someone he can get to do a better job the axe will be out. Any body language experts read anything into it? Outwardly and in his voice I thought he came across as giving Mickey a fair chance, but there were a few glances down and hard swallows in there as well.

What was very strange, and something Paul Walker tried to follow up on was that he said he'd spoken to him today, and it's the first chance he'd had to speak to him face to face for ages. If I had to jump one way or the other, he didn't sound like he was about to sack him.

In the shit, going down and McC dosen't make contact with the manager for weeks?

Whats that all about?

H'mmm very interesting - but...

As per McCabe, "I don't live in this country, I haven't had chance to sit down with Micky for months, many months...."

Erm excuse me but surely if McCabe is in charge, they should at least have been holding monthly review meetings to discuss how things are going and what improvements if any can be made. Not sure if these were held at all, or still went ahead without him being present. But the man at the helm who is in charge should have been there, at least on some occassions.

Instead of pointing fingers at managers its about time he looks at himself...

He apologises in the interview for the relegation and the short-term solution of loans. He pays Trevor Birch, rightly or wrongly, hundreds of thousands of pounds to run the club and have those meetings with the manager.

To be fair, he said sit down and talk to him face to face, the interviewer didn't actually ask him if he'd spoken to Adams in the last few weeks.

In addition McCabe put his faith in Micky, Birch and Steer to do the day to day running of the club.

The football club manager is employed because of his CV and qualifications etc

What do you expect McCabe to do fly in and say " Oi knobhead, what you doing! You should be playing that Ched Evans because he cost me a bloody fortune"

A good point, I'm sure this is the kind of thing they discussed, I'm also sure this is the kind of thing he'll be wanting to find out from interested parties or possible replacements over the next few days before an official announcement. This is a good move IMO, I think that it is quite likely that Micky will still be here next season though, unless there really is a relegation clause in his contract, and a replacement wouldn't be too expensive.

As a manager being approached by us though, looking at the club and the fact that they want to rebuild from the ground up and are in League 1, it seems an exciting offer with a lot of potential, but this is a club that has gone through managers like hot diners this season. Might that be enough to put off any potential replacements of the quality that we require?

No asking "What you playing that Evans for he's shit"

The FH interview makes me want to puke blood. I never trusted McCabe and I was right. Horrible, spineless little man. I wish he'd piss off for good. Its about 20 minutes in if you're going to go and listen....

you know, people that hide behind anonymous internet aliases, make assumptions about everything before regurgitating it as FACT, have absolutely entrenched opinions and come accross as right twats. You must have seen a few of em on here

Would they be the same people who've been flagging up our failings over the last few years and been shouted down by the cleverer people who are 100% behind Mr McCabe who is the best thing that has ever happened to the club?

Being smart isn't attractive when you've been proven right, when you've been proven wrong it's pitiful.

What happens when he pisses off?

What happens when he pisses off?

he wont go until he's taken his money.... we are in a worse position than when he took over, he sold a building in glasgow for £40m and bought the copthorne for £1 to help stabilise the club
...but hes a big blade

What happens when he pisses off?

Being a well-run club now, it is extremely worrying.

In reality, he's got what he wanted, lots of doors opened and he even sounded relatively almost committed to keeping the club going.
There was nothing in his tone which suggested any real enthusiasm for the club, more a suggestion he's had what he wanted, feels a vague sense of loyalty and will keep the club afloat.
