I get your reasoning regarding the timing, but if thats the case I’d suggest its more likely to we’re waiting for Appleton under the same circumsances.

Reckon it will be Big Slav though (eventually).

I hope you're right. A few years back I'd have been seriously worried about it being Kevin McCabe and Jason Tindall doing the Lambeth walk down John Street with the theme to Only Fools and Horses blaring while offering cut price deals for Berge, Rammers, Egan and Didzy (we'll even throw in a faulty O'Connell, miss-firing Fleck or an out of warranty Lunny for a cash sale).

I feel so sorry for JoC - if he never plays again it will be further proof that life isn't fair - he put everything into his career and was on the cusp of a move to a top six club & an England cap when Hendo threw the brick that broke his knee - if only it had been at his bonce , he could have headed it back

Our two Scousers , JoC & Lunny - how could you get more contrasting personalities ? One as good as gold , one a shitbag. And which career might be over ? Dear God , can't you show a little more justice when you dish out the fates ?

For a player that contributed nothing to our promotion season from champ, a big reason behind the drop in form when we replaced him for Coutts, had a great start to last season then dropped off and a dreadful season this he's clearly confident in his own ability.

He will end up somewhere like Burnley probably earning similar money to what he was offered here. Cant get my head around why he didn't snatch Bettis’s hand off when offered a new deal last season.

Maybe he already knows he can get more elsewhere or maybe money isn’t a factor and he wants to go somewhere that he’s more appreciated. Who knows

This has to be one of the funniest posts I've ever read on here! Genuinely made me laugh, but I refuse to put LOL (other than just now)!

Ironically I actually think the players would love that approach, when McGoldrick says they need leadership I think what they mean is someone to tell it as it is and to drive them on with the highest standards etc.

I know this may sound like I'm just defending Lunny for the sake of it, but someone I know who knows someone at the club (I know, I know) told me recently that Lunny is always encouraging and geeing up the players and even if that's false, we don't know Lundstram personally, it may well be that even Wilder agreed with Lunny on rejecting the contract. I think it's backfired on Lunny, even if he had decent grounds, saying that.

I don't get the attacks on his character at all, yes he's been shit this season but making assumptions on the type of person he is outside of football is embarrassing from "fans"

He's clearly well liked by those within the club, he's a good lad, and he's leaving now so some should just let it go now

He lost his appreciation this season when he refused to sign a new deal but talks broke down last season when he was probably getting more appreciation than any other time in his career from a set of fans.

I think his form last season made him believe he can get a game in a top 10 team hence not signing a new deal. Now I think he just wants any prem team.
