This for me, no benefits to be had.

Ok a hypothetical here. Say it's Appleton? We announce, he's still under contract to Lincoln, who are about to go through the play offs. I can only imagine the effect that will have on the players if they know he's fucking off regardless. It will hit them below the waterline most likely.

I can only surmise that if anything has been agreed, there are reasons why it can't be disclosed.

Been told today categorically it won’t be Jokanovic. Supposedly they’ve spoken to him but he didn’t interview well. (Nathan Hemmingway eludes to this when he says he was the least prepared due to his contract just ending)

I have no reason not to believe this source, however if Jokanovic is appointed I’ll never share any rumours again .

Ah yes, most important thing is they interview well. Not that they're any fucking good at managing (not aimed at you btw).

Micky Adams interviewed well. He turned out abysmal.

Danny Wilson interviewed well. History may be kind to him, but given the resources, it was a bit of a screw up not getting promoted with Maguire, Lowton, Quinn, Williamson, Kevin MacDonald, 34 goal Ched etc.

Give me his 2 promotions with 2 clubs in similar circumstances over a rushed fireside chat with Bettis and Schriber.

Bettis should be most in the know around unprepared interviews at short notice given his own car crash effort when Wilder left.

This smacks a little of Wednesday wanting to see Cantona on grass and then him jumping to Leeds and smashing it if we show interest then don't get him.

I heard the same thing. A friend has a friend who allegedly knows someone at the club.

Only difference is, I heard it 10 days ago

"They spoke to Jokanovic and the Prince didn't like him. Whether that's personality or the assurances he wanted over player sales and spend who knows. But Jokanovic isn't under consideration" was the message I got.

I was obviously sceptical of how reliable that info was when all the journos got told we were about to speak to him last weekend

I completely agree. Presume from Nathan Hemmingway that he was the least prepared due to obvious reasons. One thing all journalists have referred to is how expensive he will be.

IF what I’ve said is correct then it will be hard for the board to pay him 20/30% more than the back up option after a poor interview regardless of track record.
