Its just Shield and Biggs trying to look in the loop

Hemmington as well. Too much confidence from Biggs for it to be fabricated. He's climbed off the fence for once.

Although, he did caveat it with wilder being the next best option. Biggsy gonna Biggs.

I doubt bill and Ben ( Alan and James) have an inside line on anything. They have been starved of information since they sided with Wilder, and fed one sided information via there news channels. They may have been taking to someone but v v v much doubt it is anyone in a position of influence and feel that only the board and trusted a few trusted advisors ( not sources) are aware of negotiations with our new manager but they have to say something to sound credible.
But then again a good guess is better than no guess at all

Like he said Hecky was the safe option for us and there was a list of unconvincing candidates for the job and it was better the devil you know
He knows fuck all

Jokanovic would be my first choice of the names linked but considering they're saying that the club haven't even made contact yet, what's the 'noises' they've heard today?

Some security guard saying 'we orta gooen get that Jankavonavich geezer mi owd'

As next best options, has Wilder jumped over Hecky from last week as he was No2 best option.
Life moves pretty fast.

So the short list has got longer?

or they’ve scrubbed a few names off the short list Hecky being one of them and stuck Jokanavic on to it?

Either way, he probably has the best credentials. No guarantees with this bloke but at least he has proven ability when it comes to promo to the PL

I’d suggest Clement would have equally compatible credentials, if he’s a genuine target and on this mysterious lists

Who's to say he wasn't one of the five anyway; we're only going off limited info from the papers. Alan Nixon who probably has more contacts than any local paper said a couple of weeks back that he was the number one target.

Ultimately, whether he was on before, chalked off, whatever really, as long as we're interested now, that's the main thing. I still think that the club will be interested in Blessing, but maybe they've moved now for Jakanovic knowing that the Blessin thing is out of the question.

I agree

The only reason I say he’s been added was because there was a report that he wasnt on the original short list. Also this new report is also saying that we’ve now decided to approach him and to date there’s been no interview which sort of endorsed the report that he wasn’t on the list initially

I agree with you Bob. This would at least show ambition and an indicator to how serious we are at trying to get back at the first attempt. Whether he’d come though is a different matter

Heckingbottom was on the short list as bettis said so. Blessin has apparently been approached as we know he had responded to direct questions but:—-
No one, not even our esteemed journalists, local or National know who the others are.

Talks going on between United and Jokanovic’s representatives are planned for the next 48 hours let’s hope everything goes smoothly and we get our man over the line UTB⚔️⚽

Sheffield United ready to open talks with Slavisa Jokanovic

Sheffield United are ready to bite the bullet and open talks with former Fulham boss, Slavisa Jokanovic, according to local journalists.

United suffered another miserable defeat with Paul Heckingbottom and Jason Tindall in temporary charge. It was a performance and result of a team lacking direction and

And according to both James Shield of the Sheffield Star, and Alan Biggs, United are now ready to try and initiate talks with Jokanovic.

I'm hearing Sheffield United will try and discuss their managerial vacancy with Slavisa Jokanovic over the coming days. No talks are scheduled, but that seems to be the mood music coming out of Bramall Lane. #sufc #twitterblades

Why would we be "biting the bullet"?
What don't we like about him?
This suggests he has been considered, rejected, and now being re considered, that's what biting the bullet means,we are prepared to overlook the reason he was rejected as a candidate.

Good to hear, if we're talking to him, and presumably someone from the club has informed the press, I can only imagine it's with a view to an appointment, as others have said was it leaked intentialy? The board said that they were doing much duedilliance so that when they wanted to move it could be concluded swiftly in a matter of days. Here's hoping that is the case.

It means he’s seen the backlash to appointing Heckingbottom permanently and “bitten the bullet” to go externally!

Well from what I read about Jokanovic,he seems to make some decisions on a mixture of impulse, gut feelings and intuition, which tells me he will smell B/S a mile off.Best our board go in with a decent sales pitch or they night not even get past his representatives.

Who is to say it’s finally they are looking at him. The same people that were bigging up hecky all week?

On the top side, this was always the worry that we don’t have anyone at the club capable of picking our next manager.

I think the players told us yesterday they didn’t want hecky

Didn’t the Prince tell us when Wilder left that “the proof would be in the pudding” when the new manager is appointed?

Well as of this moment it’s been fuck up of a recipe.

In one of our recent games the sky sports commentators said "the Prince has confirmed that the next Sheffield United manager will be watching today".

Doesn't quite add up. Either SJ was always one of the potential managers and was watching that day, or the board have changed their mind about their own list and now deem every name on it unsuitable (hence now speaking to someone apparently not on the list).

Alternatively (and more likely in my opinion)... The media know next to nothing about who our next manager is going to be and so we're getting mixed messages about who is / isn't on the shortlist.

Surely "the next manager is watching" is just a throw away line to get a performance from the players. As in "there's a mysterious shadowy figure somewhere in the world watching this, and one day he might be in charge"

Not literally "Jokanovic is in the south stand"

He may not have had the loyalty points.

Reads like another Hemmingham conjecture and guesswork piece wrapped us as fact.

Heres a prediction. When they don’t appoint him, you’ll claim it’s because of the back lash. Bearing in mind the backlash less than 50 people shouting at clouds on Twitter, when in actual fact he was never being seriously considered in the first place.
It wasn’t you I was talking to in my response above but still.....
