Chris got us promoted twice, playing a style of football which was unbelievably enjoyable and was a style no one had managed to perfect before. 4 of the most enjoyable seasons I've experienced in my 57 years watching us. However, when the premiership managers and coaches sussed out how to stifle us, we simply did not adapt / change nor did we appear to have a plan B. At the back of my mind there is a bit of doubt that the lack of any attempt to develop how we play is suggesting that maybe, just maybe, Chris isn't the tactical genius we all thought.
Not so sure about this mate , injuries to our best defender , and other defenders , that back 4 was so vital to our success , lack of crowds , and everything else , plus I do believe he had a bit of a break down may-be , I really believe it was just bad luck, but yes some of his team selections were baffling , perhaps he did it on purpose to get out ?

This is exactly what I think and feel.

Don't like that fans are so quick and fickle to think wilder just turned into a crap manager and couldn't pick a good player. We did so well because he did those things. And when signings didn't work out he was quick to shuffle in the market. Take the Lee Evans out for Norwood in situation etc.

Prince wanted to run the club in a way Chris wasn't comfortable with. And started to do these things already. It took alot for Chris to want to resign. Even at the last hour they were still trying to come to a place to keep him, but there was no way forward sadly. Alan Biggs had the situation down to a tee.

But we do need to move on and I hope the owners make good decisions going forward with the new manager and plans going forward.

And if you believe that I have magic beans for sale.......

I hope it's Jokanovic. I think that, with decent backing in the transfer market, he could bring us back at the first attempt.

Blessin is a big gamble, which does bring some excitement - however, I don't think he'd adapt quick enough to the division to get us up at the first attempt. The squad would also likely require a bit of an overhaul to execute his style.

Eddie Howe is the only other name I've heard which would interest me.

The rags are saying SJ isn’t on the short list so you and many others may be disappointed if true

I must admit I know very little about the under 23s, but if some of them are really good enough to 'play a part in the first team next season, It got to be a big advantage if the new manager had detailed knowledge of these players...

100% serious.
Just because he’s the cheapest doesn’t automatically mean he’s bad.
We'll see how ambitious and how much money Abdullah has with his next appointment,if the manager isn't up to the job and the list I'm reading on here is a joke, how will any of them named attract new signings
Middlesbrough under Brian Robson attracted Ravanelli, Juninho,Emerson etc all because of Brian Robson and the backing of Steve Gibson the owner some of the best days in Middlesbrough's history is Middlesbrough a bigger club than ours definitely not so we'll see what Abdullah has in store (oh and before you start I know he didn't do anything for us)

We looked suspect defensively after the first lockdown
Admittedly JOC was struggling with his knee back then yet we did nothing about it from June last year which is quite pathetic IMO

Can't understand why would Blessin in disguise want to come to the Blades, as a learning experience okay, but his present club could in Europe next year.
We probably need a season of rebuilding with a push for the premier league the following season.
Oh well move on to the championship and some wins

When will the prince realize that the longer they leave it , the damage to the club, the player's and fans is getting deeper. If Heckingbottom was an animal, he would have been put down now.

If he did that he's an utter twat and should be paying the club rather than getting a handsome payoff. It's not bad luck mate, it's bad management.

Could be interested in some magic beans if you're willing to part with them. How many? How much ?
Asking for a friend 👍

How do you know we haven't interviewed
One
Let's not go down that route, eh? I'm not Stephen Bettis. I don't have his notebook with 5 names written on it. But at no point has any BAME candidate been linked to the job at all.

I haven't seen one single BAME candidate mentioned.

Nobody applying? Nobody interested? Overlooked?

If we have a list of 5 should we be giving an opportunity to 1 BAME candidate to show the way forward?

I mean in terms of managerial experience, Tindall and Blessin both have less than Brian Deane for instance, than Curtis Woodhouse.
Well it's not a requirement is it and neither should it be.....I'm sure every BAME candidate would want to apply and be judged on their ability, not race...❄️

Believe what. That it was v.much a mutual decision to part ways. That it could have been reconciled but neither side budged and it was all connected to the running of the club?

Wilder wanted a JOC replacement in September. Was told couldn't have on

Wilder wanted a JOC replacement in September. Was told couldn't have one
And who has told you this.?
Why would Wilder leave it as late as September to get cover for a key position where a player was already carrying an injury?
How come Wilder wasnt looking for cover in this position in January ?

Source?

If I remember the names mentioned were Robinson, Kongolo and Davies.

Davies wasn't interested, Kongolo was injured and Robinson was agreed before Fulham did us on personal terms.

I think he was backed to get a CB, but perhaps thought Robinson would suffice in the short term with Ampadu to slot in and JOC would be back after Christmas.

JOC was played towards the end of last season when he was carrying an injury
Bad management

he should have been sent straight for an operation that for some reason was delayed
Bad management

his position should have been prioritised as at least a loan for this season but it was not

didn’t realise the Rooney rule doesnt apply to us as we are PL, it will next year though

Garbage. Wilder wasted a good budget on players we didn’t need and most of whom are clearly not good enough.
Some don't feel like good signings currently of course. But not entirely wasted.

But my point was he was told joc would be fit for this season and then relapsed and went in for op.

He wanted a replacement. Can't find exact quote right now with it being September. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.th...out-their-influential-centre-half-2988244?amp

And then commenting on the lack of arrival post sept window. https://www.sheffieldunited.news/op...with-comments-about-oconnell-replacement/?amp

Let’s appoint Carlton Palmer and really show the way forward.
