Watching Robinson for West Brom, he seems to have toughened up, by no means as fast as Burke but a better football brain (but who hasn’t)
In keeping with others like freeman we bought them and because they were not in the opinion of Wilder capable of making an instant impression they were seemingly forgotten after a very short period of time.
Burke can only get better as he is dire, with only pace being a redeeming factor. It is almost as though Wilder thought and we all agree that the team Needed pace but looked no further in his makeup.
Thank god we apparently received £3 m in addition but who would you prefer in your football team

Burke will never be a footballer if he lives to be a 100😂

Robbinson is much better at present, although if someone can coach Burke to finish he could be a world beater with his pace

Imo he needs to step down to league 1 or league 2 football for a couple of seasons and build his confidence up, he would score 30 plus goals a season in the lower leagues because of his pace and probably miss another 100 chances on top of that

I too am watching a totally different player in Robinson, he looks much more athletic and his all round game play is more aggressive.

Interesting what Big Sam has done to WBA, perhaps had our owners been more assertive in their desire to preserve our PL status, we too may have still been in with an outside chance of survival.

Instead our club has crumbled, players having lost their fight & the interim management team looking utterly bemused with the whole situation.

I can only hope that the Prince no doubt with the advice of Rip Van Winkle is fully aware of the inadequacy within our squad. Robinson could have added something to it Burke I am left to ponder.

Though Robinson isn’t premier league quality, WBA got the best of that deal.

I hope we aren’t planning on using Burke next season. He’s a really poor footballer.

Last night he did seem to have learnt how to come short and lay it off and I can subsequently assume that they are working with him. Whilst he is quick and strong his work off the ball leaves an awful lot to desire as he never seems to know how to make a run.
Although having said that our strikers never know when the ball is or is not going to be delivered as our midfield and wide delivery is ?????
Guess who just scored, could Burke have scored that, I very much doubt it

Of all the transfer dealings I wasn't bothered about..

Robinson for (Scottish failure) ole' Birkenhead Wass the worst..

Every other transfer was fine by me except this one.

Robinson's a young enthusiastic lad who needed guidance from a manager who cared. he's getting that care at WBA and showing some genuine quality. I thought he was ideal replacement for Duffy but CW brought him in as a winger, when we have never played with wingers ever since. Bizarre.

Burke? A white Littlejohn. Lightning, but give him a ball and the wheels come off

Burke is just pace. He ends up on his ass more than anyone (apart from Grealish but he is fouled generally). Honestly we should have kept robinson.

Freeman could have helped in midfield this season. We'll probably sell him for peanuts too

I remember watching Robinson that first preseason and he was our best player in those games. I remember saying to my mate, he reminded me of a low rent Thierry Henry in that he drifted out wide left to pick up the ball then attacked inside at pace...

Turns out that potential was quickly stamped out - and he was pretty poo in the PL games he played for us but find it strange we'd be patient with Brewster and Mousset but not Robinson.

PWilder said he "makes his mind up quickly",about this transfer I believe, was keen to emphasize the cash the club got,and declared it a good piece of business.Robinson is playing/scoring as a centre forward, would have had no service here.Bilic didn't look a gift horse in the mouth,a good reason to get him in as manager for this alone.

Lets face it who ever we had kept it wouldn't have made a difference , football is vastly to do with confidence , and we have none , our players must dread putting the shirt on and crossing the white line , were just in a mess , if a manager does come in and turn it around and we go back up it would be a greater achievement then under Wilder .

Burke is as good as Robinson, Robinson is as bad as Burke, the only thing is Burke is younger and cost us minus millions instead of plus millions.

Also Burke isn't nesh, which is a positive. Neither will get you many goals, but at least Burke isn't scared of physical contact.

Robinson tore Chesterfield a new arsehole in a preseason friendly. I feel we can only judge Burke against the same opposition. If he sticks around for a few years we should be able to see 😉

Said it at the time ... anyone who thinks we got the better of this deal is wrong !

Getting money and a player of similar quality in trade for a striker (?) who neshed out of any potential challenge for the ball and who didn't score goals?

Great deal for me.

Think some people have forgotten how frustrating Robinson was to watch against anyone but Chesterfield.

Definitely frustrating for Chelsea fans.
