Won't clear it but it'd open a window and maybe let some stench out.
As for the above, I just think it's in the same category as Wit and Phipps. We all love Wilder but we also have all seen him allude to going until he gets his way multiple times, and that's been for the clubs benefit he says, and it mostly has, but I'm not going to say that only Chris Wilder knows what's best for the club, and maybe he wanted more than we had, we just don't know. If he's annoyed at the state of Shirecliffe but it's covid related and the Prince wanted to spend it elsewhere, then they're both right probably. I don't think it'll be some big fundamental issue, just different ideas and two proud and stubborn men.
If the Prince sells everyone decent, pays off the debts and goes back to the McCabe model of "here's a pittance and you'll bloody well thank me for it" I'll be right there with the Prince out brigade, but up to now I've thought he's been a very decent owner, spent money (his money because he owns the club, clubs money if you find that hard to accept), spoke well, and done little bits here and there that make you think maybe he does give a shit, like painting the South Stand and the general tidy up of the Lane.
McCabe built one good corner when the cost to do so was low, but did nothing else really for the next 12 years until he bet the lot and lost. Just cleaning the concrete would have done, it was fucking grim, so if not the Prince, someone on the board gives a shit.
I'm feeling more deflated about the state of the fanbase than anything, and I think everyone should concentrate more now on what we do going forward rather than making their side known and making Wilder into a martyr.
The players have been shit this season, no doubts, but they're the ones that have done the business on the pitch and they'll need some serious backing if we're allowed back soon so that it trends towards a Norwich or Watford rather than a Sunderland or Huddersfield.
Fuck the rest of it, get behind the football.
