I wasn’t alive when we sold Deane and Agana on the same day. I wasn’t alive at the end of the the Bassett years. I was still young when we last got relegated from the prem and sacked Warnock. This is the first time I’ve had one of these horrendous experiences following united.
And I’m in bits, this is absolutely horrendous, it feels like a close family member has died, there’s a knot in my stomach, I’m drinking and drinking and drinking. It’s horrendous. All of you than have gone through this repeatedly then full respect. I’ve got nothing more to say.

Not wished anyone death in this post, or called anyone a nonce

Must have hit you hard

'Character building stuff, this', as my Dad's mate would say to his son every time we lost a Play-off Final or a Cup Semi.

So every time we played in a PoF of Cup Semi?

3rd for me, Deane then Deane and Jan.

The multiple Playoff capitulations, etc pale into insignificance. The self inflicted stuff hurts. You’ll roll with it.

Your hope chips away though; the fatalism of older fans I used to despair at, but now I can see I’m on my way there myself for the first time.

Whilst I'm gutted that CW has gone I'm also interested to see what is going to happen now and CW wasn't going to be here forever anyway. At some time in the future he was going to move on. No one can micro manage a PL club for any length of time like Wilder has done for us without being jaded. I think he's just run out of steam a bit and needs a break from BL.

I miss the old Wilder but not so much the Wilder we've had since last summer.

Try to put things like this into context (easier as you get older I appreciate). Someone I know was told in December that they won't see another Xmas due to C. They are getting on with life and living life to the fullest that they can, in the time they have left. A football manager leaving his job doesn't seem so important at times does it?

Star players and managers (good, bad, indifferent or even great like our last one) come and go. The one constant is that Sheffield United FC will always be here for you and me. That's the main thing.

For someone who consistently calls people nonces and pedophiles whilst wishing death and serious injury on them, you're a reight wet wipe.

It's the 'lows' that make a lot of the last 4 years' 'highs' even better.
Personally, I wouldn't want it any other way.
Today is a tough day to take but there will be a tomorrow. Ok, unfortunately 'tomorrow' is Leicester (away) and we're going to get killed, but you get my point....if there is a point.. I think.
We'll be reyt.

Get used to it!! That's footy and specially when you support a club like ours. Harsh I know but true. We will survive. We always have and always will. Believe me, there's been worst times than this in our history.

This is no worse than when we sold Jordan Slew to Blackburn, you fucking fanny

I've taken great pleasure in watching that bastard slide down the leagues. The only player I've genuine "insider info" on. He hated it at United and couldn't get away quick enough.

Anyone who was at the Walsall game or Chelsea when we went down knows that this is just another day.
Oh Christ I’d almost forgotten about Chelsea!... well at least buried it deep in my subconscious somewhere!... Cheers Bert! 🤦‍♂️ Haha

Keep seeing people comparing it to a death and I think that's a bit much, this is a holiday in the Maldives compared to a close family member dying.

Football innit. Wilder is still with us in this world, his time with us was 80% fantastic, we've all got some memories out of it and we were going down and were shite anyway, at least now our most successful manager didn't take us down (technically), it'll make the statue dedication speech much easier to script.

Edit: Do people still go to the Maldives, or is that a dated reference? Seems a bit 90's on reflection.

Haven’t they sunk?

It’s the hope that kill you though. Just when you think we’ve stopped trying to shoot ourselves in the foot, we suddenly find more ammo, a bigger gun and a unhealthy appetite of destruction.

It's sad, but it honestly isn't that bad.

Our position in the league took a lot of the surprise out of it.

This is one of the better low days. The only fighting is on here, we haven't had to pay a penny to watch football this season, and no one had to get dirty socks standing outside the ground.

Trust me, there have been bigger surprises, and colder feet over the years.

Anyone who was at the Walsall game or Chelsea when we went down knows that this is just another day.

I was at Chelsea when we went down. I was there when that prick Hopkins scored at Wembley. I was around when we sold Deano and Fjortoft on the same day. I was there when we capitulated to Wolves in the 1st half in Cardiff. I was there when we lost to Wigan to go down the last time we were in The Prem.

This feels worse than all those events.

I'm literally devastated as I've never known the club feel so connected as I have these years under CW.

Heartbroken 😓

If the Prince had for some reason lost his shit last season during lockdown and sacked Wilder I could understand the shock and huge disappointment. But not after the 28 matches I’ve watched this season.

Managers leave clubs when they hit a bad run of form and can’t turn things around. That’s football and it’s how it’s been for the 30+ years I’ve been watching.

So no shock or disappointment from me. We gave Wilder his chance to get back on track but unfortunately he couldn’t, so we are where we are now.
