If Berge has done his hamstring then he’s out for the foreseeable. We are pretty threadbare in midfield so could we finally see the reintroduction of the No.10 role? I honestly think we look much better as an attacking unit playing this way... it works!

Ramsdale
Bash Egan Robinson
Baldock Ampadu Fleck Stevens (Osborn)
Didzy
Burke Brewster (Mousse)

We played with fight and spirit last night. Let’s get after Brighton. Personally I would love it if we ended this run by beating Brighton. Horrible franchise of a club. And if gorgeous George feels like snapping fucking Maupay I won’t hold it against him either!

We all know it's not going to happen.

Flat midfield 3 because the system works.

I’m strangely optimistic you know.
However that could very well end up being short lived... cos we all know what the other option is!

Lunny Ampadu Fleck

Sadly true.

I think it’s shit or bust time now... and I saw enough neat little flicks and interchanges between Moose and Brewster in the last 15 mins to suggest we should give them a go. Brewster in particular was showing for the ball constantly.

but... same formation with Oli back if fit

Who knows how the manager’s mind works these days? More likely to see McBurnie and Sharp starting than Brewster and Mousset.

Mcburnie is not a striker tbh I wouldn't mind him as a sub or rotational Cam when didsy is tired but no way should he be starting up front, he's not a great header of the ball either what use is getting your head to the ball but it pings off in any direction with no accuracy really

I said this, in the short time they were on the pitch they seemed to have more understanding of a partnership than any of our other paired strikers. Both looked well up for showing what they can do, if Mousse can't do 90 minutes or even 60 minutes just start him and bring on a sub when he's knackered!

It's what Wilder called fans who questioned the system or who recommended changes
Oh right... well, for once, I’m not actually questioning the formation. This is just a question based on the lack of options available.

Got to play Brewster.

We're going down but we've not only spent a club record fee on him, but he needs experience and game time as he will be the player we will look to next season.

Don’t understand why we are persistent with a flat 3 if we don’t see any possession. At least with a 10 there is a link between midfield and our strikers.

One thing is for sure, Brighton are a possession based team and they came to BL last year and changed their system because we beat them away. They won’t be changing their system this game as we don’t really have the ability at the moment of scaring them. We need pace if this is the case. Burke showed last night that pace can create goals from nothing against a possession based team.

Yes please. Something like that would do for me

Don't you think it's getting like when Clough was manager and a player would be automatic pick for 5 games and then you wouldn't see them for another 5.

Franchise of a club? Personally I think they’ve done very well and put years of under achievement and misery behind them. Remember the old goldstone ground and the withdean. The former was a proper old fashioned stadium like the lane used to be. They’ve had shit times, got a great fan base and making the most of having some money.

Is it not kinda true tho, I mean the only experience most on here have on implementing tactics is on a video game.

I'm pretty sure no poster on here is professional employed as a manger of a football team.

I don’t play video games... I’m sure others do... whatever!
Do I have an opinion on the football team I watch week in week out? Of course I do! I’ve played, watched, loved football since I was 5! Do I think this qualifies me in any way above our coaching staff? Of course not!
It’s part of the game... we don’t just sit there like mindless zombies taking what is given. Most fans have a passion, an opinion, fav players, players we think are shit, tactics that we believe work etc etc. We discuss all this... or else what’s the point?? Might as well shut the forum down for a start!

So by that logic we're not in a position to have criticized Adkins for selecting Dean Hammond?

Norwood! 👍

I should be quiet on that point, last year I said that JOC, Basham, Baldock and maybe even Lundstram should be part of the England set-up
To be fair JOC was looking good. Especially as Southgate plays a LCB. Mings looked awful and JOC was playing good football.

You know what's mental, that's true.

Brewster wanted the ball CONSTANTLY. Always moving, always an option to move the ball forward.

I'm not saying your not allowed an opinion, football is based on opinions.

Just agreeing to what wilder said.

Did I say you cant criticized?

I was just areeging to what wilder said, if he did he say it. Cant remember the interview tbh.

We hear a lot about ‘opening up’.

With 3 points for a win, I’m prepared to take the occasional ‘doing’.

If we went win-lose-win-lose for the rest of the season, we’d get to 39 points. That would be a competitive total this season. If we drew the lot we’d get to 26.

It’s the hope that kills you, but there was hope to be taken from the Man U performance. Back that up with a result against Brighton and Burnley and you can start thinking about doing something positive in the January window.
