To be fair though...the goalie and defence are supposed to understand each other and work as a team bringing the best out of each other.

Abysmal. Agree with the recruitment too, apart from possibly Burke maybe?They all look woeful. It was easy to get away with bad signings when you spend 500k, but when it’s 15m+ it gets frustrating and makes you think what are they seeing in these players. Hopefully next season in the championship we build a strong youthful squad.

Not convinced anyone at United bothered to watch MotD last season - if they had, we'd have gone for an experienced keeper that some of us wanted.

I think part of the problem is coming off your line to narrow the angle.

This season we’ve conceded goals that weren’t in the corner but Ramsdale was no where near it...so some of our fans say you can’t really fault him.
I remember Long and Simonsen being good reflex stoppers....both pulled off good close range saves but they seems to concede long shots very easily.

Good positioning/ narrowing the angles means you don’t need to make spectacular saves.

Agree.... with the comment above....Ramsdale does have this Pickford vibe about him.
He can pull off good reflex saves but he doesn’t command his area so is very reliant on his defence.

Our fans wanted him to be good which is totally understandable.

Not convinced many had actually watched Bournemouth's games last season.

He's doing exactly the same with us - some really good saves coupled with inexperience and a massive tendency to be flat footed.

For some of us it's nothing whatsoever to do with scapegoating either after he first joined. he's average now who MIGHT grow into a better keeper - completely the wrong decision to bring him in after Hendo left.

Even so he pulled off a couple of good saves but those two goals are unforgiveable. I know they are ranting in the other thread about the Jag sub but my goodness if Ramsdale had saved those two goals this would now be our first win.

Verrips must be absolutely garbage if he can't get a look in. We're paying his wages and he's made half a cup appearance. Not bad work if you can get it. Unless you have any sort of professional pride, in which case you'd be pretty fucked off not getting at least an opportunity.
