Am hoping our club takes the lead and puts a stop to all political gesturing.

The examples were written as a guide for purely illustrative purposes and were never intended to be used as part of the code; merely as a guide and place for debate. Kenneth Stern, who wrote this document, has since rejected the examples and warned how it was being used to weaponise antisemitism and close down free speech on Israel Palestine. Essentially any organisation that accepts the "examples" is giving Israel carte blanche to act with impunity whilst denying Palestinians - or those sympathetic to their plight - the means to articulate their oppression. The Oxford English dictionary definition of antisemitism will do for this Jew, or the IHRA definition less the examples. I'm not surprised that a club owned by an Arabic Muslim wont sign up to this Orwellian, nay Kafkesque document.

It’s becoming a bit of a circular discussion now. I’ve already posted a link to this and I’m struggling to see how any of these, under any reasonable definition, could prohibit criticism of Israel.

If 19 clubs agree to something to do with anti-semitism and we alone don’t, it makes us look bad. In this instance I don’t think there’s any argument that we’re acting reasonably on the issue.
