Ah well, we can concentrate on the league..
not bad, i was listening on the radio & had got out of sync because of dreadful guy in charge of the draw, whatever happened to the "xxxxx will be at home to" so i thought it was canvey island or borham wood at home & a non league side for 3rd consecutive year. but it was til i checked Twitter. that i realised it would be Bristol Rovers
not a bad thing. the last time we started with Bristol rovers away. was 2013 & we just a terrible start to the year bottom of the league & ended up in fa cup semi final
was it, oh right i got my years mixed up. i was sure it was that. was it still porter that scored the winning penaltyNope, we started with them in 2012. The first game in the run to the semi the following year was Colchester.
We have never won a league game away against Rovers in 12 attempts, but of course won there in the cup last time out.
Top 6 of the premier league, quarter final of the FA Cup at home against a side we’d beaten earlier in the season at BL, what could possibly go wrong...I'm still not over last year's cup run. When we got tickets for the arsenal game I just felt that we'd progress to the semis in front of a packed Bramall lane. There was a buzz about it. Most realistic chance weve had in years of actually winning it, if it wasn't for covid. Robbed as usual.
I was in there as well . Funny little joint. Valentines Day as well !Always enjoyed a trip to the Gas.
Last time, with Chris (BOSS) we met this fella in the micro pub near the ground and he looked just like Cato from Pink Panther. Laughed so much I had tummy ache.
Good to reminisce.

Bristol is in tier 3, can't see fans being allowed in?
It might not be in January
So was I, but all I can remember is going to the pasty van three times at half time as I was desperate for sustenanceI was in there as well . Funny little joint. Valentines Day as well !
Stood at the back on that packed side terrace was as bad a view as I've ever had. Remember Fleck playing well and hitting the post, that's about it.So was I, but all I can remember is going to the pasty van three times at half time as I was desperate for sustenance![]()
If the bloke who threw a half house brick at me from about three yards away during that game is still alive l’ll kick his head in.

I'd certainly be asking questions as to who needs to be making room and if they can be moved on in Jan.I would chuck in a few lads from the under 23's. see what theyre about, if theyre good enough. promote to first team

Midweek game wan't it? Yes BornOnShorehamStreet was there, a few others including Greenwich Blade and I even had the rare pleasure of catching Foxy and Linz in a boozer. Good night out. I came on a dirt-cheap Ryanair flight from Alicante and stayed at a Travelodge in the centre. Walked it to the ground from town, took about 90 mins. Cabbed it back. Those were the days!Yep, Dkc I also remember, enjoyable evening. I believe me and Chris and a mate of his stayed at the pub (The Wellington) just up the road from the Memorial Stadium and the Drapers Arms. I am not sure if you stayed as well?
Pity we can't have a reunion for the match in January.
Cheers,
Tony
