He was fine for a few games when he had to come in. He wasn’t this absolute world beater everyone is making him out to be.

In fairness, I haven't seen anybody do that.

But we lack creativity in midfield & he is renowned for being decent in the final third. Not much of an athlete, but with the ball at his feet he is able to carry it, play incisive passes & shoot from outside the box. Qualities we don't have much off in our current crop.

Nobody called for him to be in the team when we were winning games without him. Fans are overrating him because we’re now losing. Simple as that. Shoehorning him in the team out of position won’t make us create and score more.
 
I rate Freeman and agree given more opportunities would give something different in the last third what we currently lack , I think he was very unfortunate at the end of last season to be injured when there was more opportunities with first 11 being rotated . Turned the game for us against Palace at the Lane when Fleck went off injured , also played well against Reading in Cup when given a role he used to play while at QPR .
Personally would like see him return , but unlikely
 
Might have already been said before but if we'd have kept with the 'number 10' or 'Duffy role' as some call it he'd have fit in perfectly.

Problem is we switched to a flat three and IMO he just doesn't have that defensive side of his game needed when we play that way. I thought at times last season where we were on top of teams we might have switched the formation a bit and allowed him that free role behind the strikers, but it just wasn't to be.

Still think he's got a future here, and there may well be a recall clause in the loan which allows us to recall him in January. But as others have said he's not suddenly morphed into Rui Costa and become some kind of world class creative force.

He didn’t even play the full game against Palace and Reading are a championship team. Was it Brighton away where he was anonymous and got hooked at half time for Osborn? He doesn’t seem very consistent to me, even at Forest he had a good game followed by one where he did little and got subbed. At best, I see him as a player you bring on when you’re losing with 20 minutes to go, in the hope he might create something. Maybe he doesn’t want that role and wants to play every week?

Goals count whenever they're scored. Could we not have done with that option for the last 20 minutes in games this season?

Certainly think it would be preferable to our go-to option of leaving a tiring McGoldrick on the park to play behind 2 strikers & bringing on Sharp for Basham...

I think he was badly underused last season & disposing of him in the Summer was of no benefit to the squad.

It's not the case that I've become delusional about what he can bring to the table in his absense, I'm fully aware of his strengths & weaknesses... but I do think he has a skillset we could do with in the final third.

As I said, perhaps he’s not happy being a bit part player.
 
As I said when we signed him, he wasn't good enough to get in to our Championship side, never mind now.

That said, sending him on loan, without getting a midfield replacement, to a team that had just refused to sell us somebody, was a strange decision.

Good with the ball and shite without it ... hmm reminds me of another No 10 who won us the odd game or two in our recent successes?
 
We got behind liverpool half a dozen times and delivered limp-dick nothing crosses into the box. Freeman on his day has a bit of magic in his locker. Something different to the rest of our midfield (big man aside whom is utterly class)
 



Yeah, I'd be more inclined to believe Freeman would've been the difference tonight if he could get in Nottingham Forest's team.
 
Again. So? Burke was jettisoned by a team in lower division than us last year and walked into our team. McGoldrick was released by Ipswich before we signed him. As CaptainMorgans has said, he was one of our better players whenever he was given minutes last year. People raved about his Palace performance. And he possesses a skill set and creativity sorely lacking in our current line-up. And forgive me if I don’t give much credence to Chris ‘don’t lose’ Hughton dropping an attacking player.

If you are referring to Brooks I think the end product of the two is miles apart.
The problem with Brooks is wether he is likely to be strong and fit enough in the long term
 
I would have liked him on the pitch tonight. Because he hardly featured last season means nothing because our season was working then. No doubt he is a clever footballer and could add what's missing to our side right now.

I'm not talking about Burke
I am talking about Luke freeman who.was behind Osborn and fleck and even.lundstram for the left hand side
So we loaned him to.forest ,forest have now dropped him after a poor start to the season
 
If this is what we’re saying about freeman, can you imagine what forest fans must think seeing Osborn play like he did tonight?

A two wrongs don't make a right waste of everyone's time point
 
I'll tell you, Freeman doesn't bring anything to the team that Osborne does but Osborne does it much better. Comparing him to Burke is irrelevant because Burke's game is based on speed and getting behind the last man which is totally different to Freeman.
 
Coming from the king of strawman arguments and eptiome of the Krugger Dunning effect, that’s quite some hypocrisy there lad.
