It's "easy" to sack managers (if very expensive!). The trick is to employ a better one - just ask Mr McCabe. Not sure why there is so much talk of relegation. Chris Wilder makes mistakes like every other human being but the person who doesn't make mistakes doesn't make anything. It's only 5 games in a 38 game season & it's silly season when it comes to results. Calm down & keep the faith.
 
Dropped by Forest to the bench already for a big game with Derby.

Houghton changed to 4-4-2 so not sure where he plays if that is the case?

Whatever struggles we have had I am not convinced he was the answer or ever will be. A good Champ player for me but no more than that.

It’s somewhat unfortunate that he seems to be on the wrong end of unexpected formation changes after he joins a club twice in two consecutive seasons.

If he does become out of favour, you wonder whether Forest may cut the loan short in January so they can reallocate the wages.

Those in here who have criticised Wilder for not playing Freeman enough, will they criticise Hughton too?

I suppose it’s just as well that we all saw enough of him at Premier League level to make that judgement, eh?

To be clear, I’m not saying he’s the answer to our problems. But I feel uneasy writing off a player who performed so well at Championship level before only being given a few games at Premier League level.
 
I thought Luke would have been great for us. And on the cameos he’s had he ain’t been bad. But it’s quite obvious in training Chris and Al have seen day in day out, the better midfielders in training have been Fleck Lunny Berge and Osborne. It’s as simple as that.
If Luke had been smashing it in daily matches do you really think he’d be at Forest now- of course he wouldn’t.
But if in the very unlikely event we go down, maybe he’ll be right for next year.

I saw enough to suggest he was no better than what we have got at the level we are now at. If he was that impressive in the games/subs/training, then surely Wilder would have played him more?
 
I don’t really rate him from what I’ve seen, certainly no higher than any of our current lot. He may have offered us something a bit different to what we have but the opportunity to use him in his preferred (most effective) position is so unlikely that it makes little sense to keep him around. I think being sat on the bench for 90 minutes for a desperately poor Forest side tells a story.

Were you really able to make that judgement off a few appearances? Do you genuinely think that’s long enough to judge someone? Fair enough going down the “Wilder clearly didn’t rate him” route, but I can’t buy anyone believing they could tell he wasn’t cut out for it.
 
He played a handful of games and was our best player in 2 of them; Palace (h), Reading (a).

To say we give everybody else lots of time to bed into the system I'm not sure how we can class that as a bad effort.... I don't remember him disgracing himself in any of his other outings either.

I also don't think he's the answer to our problems, but I think we'd be better for having him as an option. He definitely offers things that Osborn can't.

Shouod we keep hold of all players who are 3 rd choice in their position ? Maybe bring Leon back.too
