No shareholder with an ounce of common should be setting foot inside the Copthorne for the reasons stated.
I suspect this will be one of the issues that I will be right about in the months to come boys and girls.

I take it that's a no then.

Why any of you waste your time with this cretin is beyond me.

Really pathetic. Shareholders boycotting an AGM because of the venue? Passing up an opportunity to ask questions of the board about the performance of the company over something as trivial as the venue?????

Grow up.

Sadly there are one or two on here that need to grow up.
SUFC spent significant sums of money building a hotel which has now been transferred to McCabe personally, apparently to pay for his own mistakes.
It has nothing to do with SUFC now and should not be the venue for our agm.
There is no good reason for it and I'll be playing no part in an exercise which benefits McCabe ltd and not SUFC.
If you can't see that, that's your problem.
But I suspect in the coming months, you'll see it much more clearly.

I'm waving goodbye to any credibility you ever had, len.

Is this the same hotel that many of the slashers were saying was loss making and a drain on resources?

Absolutely spot on Nick. If your money's in there you want to know what's happening.
There are some people who wouldn't attend the AGM if it was in their front room !!!

No, it was the hotel that was going to be a revenue resource for SUFC which we've paid for and which is now owned by McCabe, not SUFC.

The telling fact is that no-one on here can dispute the logic. No-one.

There is no logic there to dispute. The important thing is the AGM, and the purpose of it, not the venue. I appreciate the irony of where it is being held, but to boycott it on those grounds, far from being logical, is at best childish, and at worst a convenient excuse to cover for the cowardice of not wanting to attend and make the sort of noises you make on here.

Cobblers. The principle matters. For years the agm has been held at our club.
Now, all of a sudden, it is being held at a hotel owned by McCabe which will help raise its profile and which we may be paying for.
It's wrong pure and simple.

So go to the AGM & point this out. Man up a bit.

I won't be going to the Copthorne on the 18th or at any other time.
As I said before, I suspect many fans will be looking at that hotel in the weeks and months to come and understanding exactly what I'm saying now.

You wouldn't have gone to the AGM if it was at the club either, because your a bigger coward than McCabe.

Submit a written question.

He was never planning on going to the AGM anyway because he has no balls whatsoever. The location of it is just a very convenient excuse to hang his hat on.

I take your comment as the penny dropping.
Just as Ferencvaros never had anything to do with SUFC ltd, now the Copthorne has nothing to do with SUFC ltd.
What's your view on the fiduciary duty/company law element of moving the asset from our club to McCabe ltd? I seem to recall the statement using the phrase 'market value'.

I do see Len's point but in my experience through past work the three main conference rooms (Millenium Suite, Marsten Suite and the other one at the South Stand, name escapes me) are generally in use more often than not, and perhaps even busier at that time of the year.

Could it not be that due to the nature of the EGM (I haven't really been paying that much attention but hasn't this just recently been called) that logistically the hotel was the only place they could host it! It's not as if it's the other end of the city (!) and hosting it anywhere else than the club/hotel would have resulted in a bill of thousands for SUFC. I really doubt the hotel will be making any money out of this other than drinks taken at the bar.

Why do you think McCabe is a coward Nick?

I don't Raul, and I expect he will be at the AGM to take any flak coming his way. Lenners has been calling him a coward all over the forum, and has failed to see the irony of his own position - the very definition of keyboard warrior, but far too cowardly to do anything other than spout bile on an internet forum.

Far too sensible post!

My view is that it appears to have been a requirement to facilitate the refinancing with Santander.

I'm not the chairman of SUFC Nick. I didn't put myself in the position, I didn't make those decisions, I didn't fuck it up and then find ways to walk away leaving us in the shit and without even leaving us the bleedin' hotel to show for it.
The responsibility is McCabe's, not mine, not yours or anyone else on here.
Getting upset because a fan points out the salt being rubbed in the wound by hosting the agm at the hotel - and refuses to go along with it - will seem more than a little bizarre in the months to come.

Len, no need to worry about setting foot in the Copthorne, McCabe is changing the Hotel name to Championship Inn

I think, what everyone is saying Len.

You can't come on here, hiding behind your keyboard moaning about everything Sheff Utd if you're not prepared to do something about it in person.

I go to all ,if not most, of things involved in fans and the Club. I've been to the Forums with KM and asked the questions I wanted answering, often walking away a little dizzy as it's literally all spin I get as an answer.

Just put your money/thoughts where your keyboard/mouth currently is do something about your negativity. Only then can you be satisfied with YOUR thoughts. It's not difficult, being honest

Haven't you answered your own questions in there somewhere Kopped??

Hiya everyone. :hello:

I've got nothing to say on the subject but I thought it would be rude not to pop in and say hello seeing as everyone else has turned up...

I must admit I could never understand why our wealthy neighbours had their AGM at the St Paul and before that the Cutlers Hall rather than their impressive conference and banqueting facilities over at the sty. Perhaps a motion needs to be made at the AGM to change the venue to the millenium suite from the copthorne next year surely thats the most pressing matter on this years agenda. Takes me back to the round table area AGM where I proposed it shoukd be moved back to Baldwins from the Consort Suites and when asked why by a tabler from Worksop responded with its 800 yards from my house. Needless to say motion failed and I never went back to Thurcroft.
