Chabuddy G you are simply wrong my friend and twisting history.
Wilder wasn’t “trying” it. Again he was forced.
In reverse order to the 1st of January; Billy started the following games:
(A) Southampton - lost - 3-1
(H) wolves - won - 1-0
(A) Newcastle - lost - 3-0
(H) Norwich - Won - 1-0 (Billy scored)
(A) Aston villa - Draw - 0-0 (Ghost Goal!)
(H) Brighton - Draw - 1-1
(H) Bournemouth- Won - 2-1 (Billy Scored)
(A) Palace - Won - 1-0
(H) Man City - lost - 1-0
Billy Sharp Started 9 games out of a possible 18:
Stats:
Won: 4
Draw: 2
Lost: 3
Goals: 2
Even as back up striker (which is obviously what he is, them stats are ok IMO)
But here is the catch:
EVERY single game Billy Sharp started Mcgoldrick WAS NOT ON THE BENCH*
*baring bournmouth at home - Mcgoldrick had just retuned from Injury!
TLDR: Wilder knows Sharp is not No1 (or even No2) striker, trust me he knows!! The only argument people may now use is that Billy is obviously number 3 and maybe Mousset should be. Again, Ill stick with Wilders tactics of using Lys for the 30mins (that he can manage) at the end of a game when defenders legs are tired.
Not looking for arguments but my god have some faith in Wilder, if we can all see what we need, he certainly can! The last thing us supporters should be doing is saying Billy isn’t good enough. He is the best cover we will get, thats for certain.
