Being pretty new around here I never had the pleasure of conversing with HH, but as many have said it's always sad to hear about a fellow Blade passing. And no age at all, so sad.

May I send my heartfelt condolences to Lucy and all of you who knew him. Sadly I can't be at the game today due to some health issues so if someone could raise a glass from me I'd be very grateful.

Au Revoir Mate

Grahame was a good mate of mine - we stood together on row ZZ in the Kop for over 10 years and took in a fair few away days too.

Mate - ta for the experiences in Bolton, Leicester and most of all Huddersfield (all of which really belong in the Pig and Truffle!!) - and for everything at the Lane.

Gonna miss your foibles mate - "never seen a kick off" - "kicking rate way" - "Your good aren't yer - and "learn the F**cking rules"! - BDTBL will be less for you not being there.

For those who never had the priviledge - He was a true Blade. He knew what the club was, was it stood for, and what being a Blade meant. He was the first to stand up to the racists and bigots we sometimes got in our part of the Kop - and the first to get us singing when things were going badly.

He knew his football inside out (though I'd like to think I tought him a little about defending the left corner if nowt else) - and on top of that, he was fluent in french, knew more than is healthy about astronomy and as a kid was the subject of an ITV documentary about child prodigies.

As I sit here typing this and having to wipe away the tears - I dread to think how his girls must be feeling

Don't know if I'll ever go back to ZZ now mate - but anyroad UTB mate - and you will be sorely missed by all your mates from the Lane.

it's a funny thing isn't it.. most of us have probably never met each other but i'd still class most of you as friends of a sort

As an exiled Blade I only get to 1 or 2 matches a year and rely on this forum to keep me informed. I rarely post here so HH wouldn't have known me or of me at all. But I read most posts here, in fact it's a lifeline to exiles like me so although I never met the man I did get to know him in a way and am surprised at myself how sad I feel typing this especially after reading Sheepdips wonderful tribute above and others like it.
