This is terrible news. Never met HH but always enjoyed his posts and banter on here and SF. He knew his ale t'owd lad.

God speed on your journey mate and sincere condolences to HH's family and friends.
 
Very sad, never met the guy but my heart goes out to his family as I sat here with a tear growing after reading Sheepdips tribute.
RIP and it would be nice if we could do something for his family Foxy / Linz?
 
RIP pal, the news shocked me when I heard it, and it still seems a bit surreal.

I was only on the shoutbox talking to him on Friday afternoon.

My thoughts go to his family at this awful time.

Came on here (you miss a whole week-ends posting when you only sign in from work) for the usual mix of irreverence and irrelevance and saw this. Knocked my duck off completely.
Like Robbie says he was lively in the Shoutbox on Friday and this is truly horrible. Can't remember being this sad for someone I've never seen or met.

RIP.
 
So sad to hear this. Like others before me, I never met the lad so surprised at how moved I was. Testament to how decent-a-bloke he was, I guess. RIP HH, UTB.
 
God, I never knew the man but the is just such terribly sad news. RIP mate always read your posts and will miss them.

SufcLucy what a brave kid you are to come on here so soon after losing your father,I never knew him but having a son your age and thinking of leaving him behind to suffer the blades alone as moved me to tears.

Don't want to upset 100 other kind posts - but I'm sure Gra would appreciate your thoughts DJ. Me, him and Lucy had a few days away over at your place (as you'd expect), and the rivallry between us meant as much to him as it does to us all. For you to make the effort to comment from your side of the "divide" means a lot. Ta
 
Shitting hell. Not been in here for ages and have come back to this sad news. This is bloody dreadful news. RIP mate. Who's going to join me in late night pissed up shoutbox sessions now? Where will I get my racing tips for the gold cup at Newbury this weekend? Christ almighty. I'll have a fiver on a suitably named horse in his honour and a pint or two with a nod in his direction. I really am knocked for 6 by this.

Absolutely. If you came in pissed on a friday night at 2am, you'd be almost guaranteed to find happyhippy in the shoutbox. Actually come to think of it, any night of the week.

Happy Hippy's Funeral.

Hiya everyone. Firstly I don't know whether this is in the right part of the forum, so sorry in advance.
I've finally been able to set a date for the funeral which will be held on Wedesday 8th of December, 10:45, at City Cemetry. The good thing about that is that you can see BDTBL, the bad thing is that it's on a Wednesday. He will actually kill me, but it's the only day they have free so.. we don't want him anymore smelly if we wait any longer. Haha
I know plenty of you knew my Dad personally, and others only virtually, and lots of you have told me that you'd like to pay your last respects etc, so this is why I've posted it on here, because there is way too many people for me to let know in such a short space of time!
There's only one catch. I want everyone to wear United shirts/Rock Band shirts, because as most of you know my Dad wasn't the most formal of guys, so I think it'd suit him perfectly. :)
I think that's everything I need to tell anyone, but any questions just PM me or something.
The Funeral Director told me to say this next bit. He said if there is any donations/flowers/questions about anything then can you please contact Michael Fogg, 0114 265 3000.

(If you see this exact message on different forums, sorry, but there's a lot of people to get around. Haha)
Hope to see many of you there. :)

In regards to the donations is anything happening through the site?

Raul requested that I pass on the money from our bet to these donations which of course I'm only too happy to do but wondered if it is all through the FD?

I'm sure those of us who can't/won't be there will be thinking about your dad. And I think it's great you do it on a Wednesday,a sort of final word regarding any groundings or tellings off he gave you over the years ;-)

FFS just had text from Sheepdip, was great to meet him at the NVFC Beer Fest, have a great picture of him at the bar enjoying the evening. I am sure all who were at the event and who met him will want me to pass on condolances from all connected with NVFC Beer Festival.

RIP fella.

(I realise this is belated but) I just wanted to say how much this moved me. The news was truly terrible and my heart goes out to his friends and family. I thought Happy Hippy could be a bit aggressive at times with some of his posts, but he was clearly an intelligent guy and the one's that knew him were full of praise. I remember his contribution to the Championship ratings thread (where Darren and I were going at it hammer and tongues) and it was clear that he was smart. He obviously liked a flutter (the thread talked a lot about gambling) and he must have had a mathematical mind. Anyway, it is such a shame for such a young guy to lose his life. It was Sheepdip's message that really moved me and actually brought tears to my eyes.
 
Was a good turn out for Grahame earlier, people coming from all over the place to pay their respects.

Many thanks to Lucy for keeping us in the loop and therefore giving us the opportunity to pay our respects to a top bloke. You know where we are the next time you get to a match!

Just to re-iterate, if anyone would like us to pass on any donations, which I believe will be going towards some form of help for children in Grahame's memory... Just give me a shout via PM and I can either act as a go between or put you in touch with the relevant people.
 



Having recently got back from a wonderful time in the Caribbean, reading this today on a catch-up was a real, real shocker. Met Grahame once on a rare visit up at the Lion. Good bloke, true Blade and one who knew his music.

This news really knocked me for 6. Deepest sympathy to Luicy and th rest of the family and I hope HH got a fitting send-off yesterday.
