Personally I do think this unlikely but it is interesting that the club, who must know about the speculation, have done nothing to dampen it down as far as I have seen. I know CW made a comment a while ago but I’m not aware of anything recently

A £5m loan fee (c£147k/week through to the end of May 2021) + 75% of c£35k/week salary (c£26k/week) = c£173k/week sounds awfully rich to me and would dwarf the cost of bringing Henderson back again this season.

I'd be delighted if he did return but I'd be amazed if he did, especially on the terms quoted.

if the £5m loan fee gets taken off any potential purchase fee then it makes the numbers look much more favourable. I reckon Man Utd would have asked for a similar loan fee for Henderson and we would have had very little chance of signing him permanently. With his wages being over £100k a week paying 50% of his salary would add an extra £1m+ to the spending.

So we could spend £6.4m with £5m of that taken off a future purchase price or £7.6m on a player we have no chance of buying.

I'm not sure Brooks works hard enough out of possession, and would realistically spend 50% of his time on the treatment table. It's a "no" from me.

Agree, he can be forgiven for not being a 'scrapper', as long as he performs with the ball. As you say, we are desperate for some invention and creativity.

On leaving, Brooks maintained he was keen to play under “Steady Eddie” Howe. Eddie gone.
More importantly (than being one of the most exciting players since TC) is Brooks himself. It’s clear Tufty is planning a B team, which is where Brooks fits in.

Yep, strange if true. Maybe there's just a dearth of options, particularly in the Championship that are realistic. Off the top of my head:

Dack
Wallace
Delefeou or whatever he's called (although gone to Spain i think)
Any Brentford midfielder
Bannan

Obviously the two at Norwich but they probably fall into the unattainable category too.

Who else is there, bearing in mind they'd have to make an impact almost straight away (which probably rules the list above out)? Jota?

Well, i got the new FIFA 21 yesterday and can vouch that I seriously can't fit him into the system. I've ended up having to change the system to make him fit. Best to walk away TBH..

Here's how i've fitted him in and can't help but think if we turned up like that in real life, we'd get, in the words of Steve Nichol "ANNIHILATED"

Well, i got the new FIFA 21 yesterday and can vouch that I seriously can't fit him into the system. I've ended up having to change the system to make him fit. Best to walk away TBH..

Here's how i've fitted him in and can't help but think if we turned up like that in real life, we'd get, in the words of Steve Nichol "ANNIHILATED"
