We obviously need to get freeman off the wage bill to get players in, so unless there’s others wanting him, we can’t use him as a negotiating tactic

Surprisingly poor business when we are seemingly missing out on deals due to a lack of finances. I'm sure we could have sold Luke Freeman to someone in the Championship & at least got our money back for him.

There is someone else wanting him, funnily enough its also the club we really want someone from too.
Even if they don't want to/can't buy him out right, there's a very simple solution that everyone on this thread keeps alluding to.

There's no way that him going to Forrest is a coincidence...

Maybe not, but maybe they offered us the best deal for him.

Him signing on loan now makes is even less likely cash is coming - imo.

You’d wait until everything was signed sealed and delivered and announce it in one go. The fact freeman is already there without a deal in place and villa sniffing means we’re out of the race for me

FFS come to think of it, I actually agree.
You're right.

Not one for being critical of Wilder but it is a strange one really. We have inquired about Cash and been knocked back for falling short with our offer and we loan a saleable player to them? that's strange!

Fuck it - no way he’s better than baldock anyway.
I'm not pissing and moaning as a spoilt fan, it's Wilder I feel bad for.
I don't know that much about Robinson and Cash but it seems Chris had a plan to get some really exciting competition for Enda and George.
Again you're right though.
Neither seem like a direct replacement because Baldock in particular seems to get better and better each week.

Well I won’t believe anything till I see him wearing a new team shirt on SSN!
If it’s 12mil I have to assume Wilder has somebody else lined up... we need another RWB

I would assume there are good reasons for this deal and all we come out in the wash.
Could be that Freeman has requested to go for first team football, still a strange deal for me .

Which will be nob all and negligible in the grand scheme of things.

If we don't want Freeman, sell him. If we want Cash, include him in the deal. Why are we being bullied by those scabby cunts?
If it pays the loan fees of someone that better suits Wilders plans then it benefits us.

Yeah - I feel the same. Disappointed to see some intriguing looking signings disappear from under our noses. And frustrated we don’t seem to be riding our 9th place finish to improve the squad

but at least wilder isn’t putting the future at risk by handing out stupid money etc - and id back him to sort something out.

Felt annoyed when we let Evans go at the last minute as he looked a solid squad player - we added Norwood 24hrs later and the rest is history.

To be fair I've said along I'd prefer Roberts from Swansea but I'm getting really depressed that Chris isn't getting the backing to bring in the players he wants and is having to watch no marks like smith and Parker just walk away with his main targets

They baited us with Freeman and sold him straight for cash to Villa.

CW did bring it up in his press conference today that others teams coming in for our targets.

It's not as straight forward as that. Chris probably has the funds to pay much more in wages than we are currently prepared to, but there is a bigger picture about the wage structure and dressing room harmony.

The likes of Fulham & Villa probably don't give a shit about that, and if they can stay up with that attitude then fair enough, but recent form suggests that they are just storing up problems further down the line.

Chris has always said that he would never leave us unsustainable. A few other managers could learn a bit from him.

Smith is the type of bloke that buys the random £5 stuff in Poundland.

He's the type of guy who pays for YouTube Premium.

How the hell anyone trusts him with money I will never know.

It won't though will it. It will be nob all. We're not loaning out the next Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen or Rio Ferdiand. Its Luke Freeman. We'll get at most his wages covered and forest have an option to buy. That will be it. We aren't getting mega bucks from this. Unless this is a sweetener to get Cash then its terrible business. And deep down everyone knows it.

How do we know that Cash is Wilders no 1 target ?
Baldock is his first choice RWB
Cash would have been his understudy in that position so surely it would make more sense to bring in a dedicated RIght sided midfield player than one that we all thought would be fit for purpose?

I just don't understand how our budget is so low that we are effectively paying 10 million for ramsdale and then scratching around for championship players we can't afford and loans for players we won't get ,I honestly don't understand how a minimum of 132 million only allows you that kind of budget

Can anyone explain ?
Bearing in kind the transfer of assets is covered by a loan ,the 132 million is adjusted for losses from covid and as far as I know we aren't spending 120 miliion on our academy and training facilities

Baldock is 1st choice because we have never had credible competition.
