In this day and age £3m, for a top 10 league team, is essentially pocket change (or at least should be)

Think he would improve the squad and definitely offers something different if used in the RCM position. Another poster mentioned it, but against the big boys offering a bit more bite in midfield is no bad thing and think he'd have been invaluable post lockdown.

Back end of this season we had Berge and Lunny competing for that RCM midfield, with Berge looking like he'll drop into DMC and Lundstrum on his way out, to me we need 2 players for that position.

Swift (if he signs) and Besic to me are a much stronger pair and both offer something different.

There may be better options out there, but for the price I wouldn't be adverse.

I reckon this could be a good move if swift falls through. I'd be a bit surprised if we're not looking for someone on the right in the Osborn mold who can cover full back and right mid though. We've no cover for Baldock at all with Freeman gone and not sure the angriest man in football will go two seasons without suspension.

If we fail to sign our midfield targets and Lunny leaves which is likely then I would like Besic back. If Wilder is interested in bringing him back we should be able to sign him for £2.5M - £3M which is about right but no more than that. He's probably not even a fringe player of Everton's he's that far down their pecking order.

He's fully committed, hard in the tackle and aggressive in breaking up play as at this level we're not often going to dominate for large spells in every match and this is where I think Besic would be very useful for us.

I probably would too, but it's not a progressive signing. He'll be competitive and add some bite, but we really need some players that can carry the ball, retain the ball, create some openings, contribute to goals...

Steal at 3/5m, gets stuck in, mobile, probably not fussed about playing back up and would relieve some worry about Lundstrum going Etc.

i can think of of why we wont sign him and start and ends with his £60k a week wage demands.

I doubt his next contract anywhere will be on £60k a week.
I too would like him. Very good on the ball, great tackler. Aggressive and a grafter.
Typical United player

We need better. In my opinion, our midfield needs to become quicker. We rely on our midfield to get up and down the pitch to support the offence and defense. I don't think Mo is the answer, even if its just coming off the bench.

Best player I saw in a united shirt at confidently carrying the ball forward from box to box

Way faster than Norwood

haha... sad, but you might be right. That's why we should be investing in players like Buendia ;) and maybe Cash. Both seem comfortable running with the ball and can offer a hell of a lot more than Mo.
Ones a second rater the other is so good he took the "champions" to the 6th worst PL team finish of all time!
Mo'll do for me....

I'm not really sure we could justify it, despite the price representing good value.

If we want to improve as a team, and score more goals, we need to expect more from our midfielders in an attacking sense. Not just to score themselves but to take on more creative responsibilities and help create more chances.

I don't think Besic is the answer in that regard, and as much as I like him, there are probabaly better uses of our budget.

I remember seeing a stat with SUFC and top speeds...I thought Sharp registered the fastest speed. Not sure who the radar person was...

Don’t think there’ll be a queue of clubs waiting to buy him So we might get him for a free so Everton get him off their wage bill. No idea what sort of wage he’s on but knowing Everton probably currently at top end of our wage scale so might need to take a drop in wages to come to us. As others have said he is at best a squad player who would do a job in certain circs. CW will know him well and if he thinks he will add to the squad strength wise then it would Make sense to try and do a deal for not a lot of money.
