Reported thAt he is going to Man City for £41 million
Whilst a v good player how does he compare to our three centre backs and what is their subsequent value

That’s a nice start for Bournemouth! Man City though! Want cunts! Paying way over for him just because they can! He will be a squad player and they pay that much witch brings prices way up !

City want players that can pass the ball, rather than actually Being good at defending and keeping the ball out of the net.

Tbf he looks a very decent player, but I’m not sure if he’s a top class or even a great defender.... he didn’t make many errors but you’d think he might be able to stop Bournemouth’s back line from being a complete shambles if he was all that.

We've only got Egan as a comparison to Ake due to them both being international players for their respected countries.
They both chip in with the odd goal or two as well.
But come on, 41m for a centre half who's team has just been relegated to the Championship with an awful goals against tally 🤭.
I definitely think The price has been hugely inflated due it been Man City and there Saudi owners deep pockets.
Surely then if this is the going rate Egan must be in the same price category.

When we played them, they were on about him being a £75m player. And then he just stood there as the ball bounced off his face and Billy scored.

£41m is better but he's still a defender from a team that's been relegated and have conceded over 60 goals a season while he's been there.

Kompany he's not.

Man City guys, hi we wanna buy your man , how much you want for him ? Errr I don’t know , say 40 million, That’s no problem , we will send you the money straight away ! Peanuts for us! Pepe is such a genius ! What valuation does that make Josh King ? 50 plus?

Loose change for Man City. It’s the equivalent of us spending 500k on someone, if it doesn’t work out They wont lose any sleep over it.

Fantastic deal for Bournemouth though.

So that's £50m for Eagan. £75m for JoC straightaway if any suitors come calling? And they said with the pandemic the arse would drop out of the market?

Yep. Man city will now go all out and spunk millions as a "fuck you" to ffp.. can't wait.

This is exactly the reason why I believe parachute payments are totally pointless.

They were designed to 'cushion the blow' of paying premier league wages and not having the same revenue. However these days players have clauses in contracts and additionally players are worth a hell of a lot just because they've had a seaosn in the prem.

Ake at 40m proves this, Bournemouth don't need parachute payments. Neither do norwich when they can easily make 30/40m in xfers. Watford has a player worth 25-30m+ in Sarr.

Makes you wonder why these teams go down when they have all these multi-million pound players at their disposal.
World's gone mad.

I'd say we'd get half the price of Ake, at most, for any of our defenders. Ake can play in a 2 and has done. He's 25 and has more than 10 Dutch caps. He's also proven in the Premier League. I'm surprised he isn't more expensive tbh.

Funny thing about Ake is that Bournemouth look much more solid when he's not playing.

Bournemouth are going to be fine, they've got the best part of £70m for Ake and Mings. Bet they sell Brooks for £40m too, and Wilson for similar.

Best transfer team going when selling.

He's literally a really good defender, would be brilliant in our system too.
I'm confused as to where the attitude towards other defenders on this forum has come from... Ake improves every squad in this division and nearly all first 11's.

He went off in one of their post lockdown games that they won - basing it on that
You’re judging your whole opinion on whether Bournemouth look better with him or not based on a single post lockdown game?
