Slashing wages of a player whos actions made him unavailable for a year, and who could have been fired for gross misconduct indeed, and then not giving him a contract, which was the one with a release clause. No wonder no-one comes here...

Don't pay any attention to Warnock. He's a wind up merchant and has issues with people still at the club. Anyone with any class wouldn't comment on it.

The fact of the matter is he had a CONTRACT with us neil.
He could have been sacked & got nothing for the duration of his ban.

I dont care if people say im bitter. He s judas scumbag & i will never forgive him. (not that he will care)

read carefully - he had his wages slashed and the club expected him to play a full time role again with those slashed wages until January - i'd be pissed off too!

Depends on your definition of 'slashed' thou. I don't get to find out much information from inside the club but I do know Paddy was still one of the top five earners at the club with his new contract

If I were unemployable for a year I'd sooner have my wages slashed than be sacked for gross misconduct. Kenny would not have been paid by any other football club for the period of his ban so any money we paid to him was a bonus in my eyes. We had to pay for other goalkeepers to cover him during his idiot ban so we're fully entitled to try to recoup cash from the fool.

The fact that he's trying to use this to justify his reasons for leaving shows he is as stupid and as disloyal as we all thought. Paddy Kenny: another brilliant Sheffield United goalie but one who ruined his reputation in the manner in which he left.

As for his charitable works in the article. I was told - before his ban- by the promotions staff that he was very unrelaible and always not turning up and letting people down.
Morgs by contrast was an absolute star. Anyway he came out on top today - he played well and they thrashed us. i always feared the abuse could have that effect.
We now have more pressing matters to think about - please let us get a good mananger who can motivate teh team. I thought there were flashes of good play today but they didint play as a team. I also hope Blackie gets a new job and comes in for Quinn

funny you never mentioned this previously?

Any other job, you get caught doing drugs, you dont get your wages slashed, you get sacked, he was lucky we didnt do it.

So Warnock takes the word of a convicted druggy?

Convicted druggy? hahaha.

I thought I'd heard it all too.

If I got caught taking cough medicine at work, would I get sacked? 100% fool you are

Warnock has jus got the face on because he wasn't the centre of attention on this particular return, so now he has spouted off to try an get in the papers.

If you got caught doing something against the rules of your industry that would result in your unavailability from work for the majority of a year (comparative to Paddy's ban), you would get sacked. For instance, if you were a stock market trader, and lost your license for a year for insider trading, you would be sacked.

And of course Warnock is talking bollocks. He's sticking up for his own player to better his club's chances, no shock there. That said, the jibe at other SUFC players who do work for charity (such as Morgan) is below the belt and a scumbag move IMO.

I think a railway signalman might find him/herself in trouble. Whereas people at my work have turned up half cut and gotten away with it. :)

I don't disagree, but to make him out to be some 'convicted druggy' is disgraceful.

Half cut? I've had work colleagues in the past fully shredded on duty.

Judging by Jonny Ertl's positioning on Saturday, he was damn near wankered on Saturday...

Ha ha. With all the excitement after the event I'd almost forgotten about the match!

I have to say I am presuming when we mention in future that Ertl is flexible and plays a number of positions that RB is not one of them. Andy Taylor doesn't inspire great confidence in me but he was Hemsleyesque compared to what was happening down the other wing.

If we had sacked him then united wouldn't have got a transfer fee for him, so the argument that he should have been sacked doesn't hold up. It wasn't in the clubs interests to sack him.

Still annoyed that he went though.

I think you'll find it was ephadrine, which is indeed in cough medicine, I believe Paddy did take cough medicine, but and this is why he got the ban, he couldnt proof it totally came from that source, hence the suspension. So yes, convicted and yes, if you had a dope test and tested positive for ephradrine you would get sacked, cough medicine or not.

The reason his ban was so 'lenient' was because they believed that it was from cough medicine.
If they had believed that it was from other sources, he would have got a 2 year ban minimum.

say what you like about paddy but he was a quality keeper and i'm not totally convinced we've adequately replaced him.. i found the reaction to his return very disappointing and that is not what being a blade is about IMHO

Couldnt agree more. Paddy was quality. Im disappointed he has left, disappointed Warnock has to stick his beak in and stir s**t up, no need. I havent seen enough of Simonsen to honestly give an opinion. I work with a load of Evertonians who tell me he is terrible, I dont think he is that bad!
