whats the big fuss about? They're not even our players!!
Surely Spurs can loan them to whoever they wish
This might be too much of a leap, and it is total speculation on my point but.....
If Bills' post earlier in the week is correct Leeds couldn't be handed a £10-15 Million bill from the IR which they can't afford and will put them out of business.
Is it a bridge too far to say they may as well go for "shit or bust" this season in an attempt to get to the PL within which this bill is easily affordable?
Too much leftfield?
If ever a thread didn't live up to its title... I was expecting to read that Lee Strafford had been appointed chairman.
Forgive me for pointing out the obvious, but the Kyles are not our players anymore. A substantial offer was made, we needed the cash, the deal was done and they went to Spurs. Therefore, how is this bad news coming OUT of the club, and how are McCabe and Blackwell responsible, assuming of course that this isn't horse-shit like 90% of other rumours that come to nowt? It would be disappointing seeing them at Elland Road, and I doubt if we'd have ever sold them direct to Leeds, but that is the crazy world of football for you. Rumours are taken as fact and a lot of nonsense is talked and reported (Did Paddy sign for QPR last Tuesday as I was told he would, for example)...
Boro were quite happy with Naughton and would have more cash to take him on loan for the season than weeds.
Chinese whispers yet again.
Who honestly gives a shit?
Let both go to Leeds. How is that bad news comin out of BDTBL? If Monty wants to go too, then crack on. We'll have our own squad sorted by the start of the season IMO.
Have faith fellow Blades. Fuck what everyone else is doing.

I kind of agree with beighton,it is frustrating to see players that never should have been sold, move to big rivals to us.That is IF the deal goes through.
Because if we are a club that wants to go places without having to buy players in,then to me,adopting a `lets sell all our assests every season policy`,will get us no-where.weve no money for players,so bleeding homegrown talent into the team is the best way forward for us.So as for your comment,i dont agree with it.2 seasons ago when bobarwell had his first full season,we got to the play.off final(and if beattie had not been sold)we would have been promoted automatically, last season without the services of naughton, and a handful by walker we were poor.A steady decline of player qualities mean only 1 thing-a steady decline in league position. So you think that the sale did the club some good?methinks not.United should have taken a gamble and upped there wages and busted there guts to keep hold of beattie and the 2 kyles,i think many blades fans would agree, that the gamble would have paid off.£8million for two full backs with less than 50 games between them..unable to claim a place in a premiership team and we needed the money to pay for the debts incurred under Robson which were starting to cripple the club
Remindme again why they shouldn't have been sold ?

We had to sell our 'assets' because we gambled on going back up and lost. We were in danger of doing a Palace/Leeds/Portsmouth etc...would you rather we go bust ? We couldn't afford to keep Beattie.
Last season our problem was not scoring enough goals not that we didn't have the two Kyles(don't get me wrong I would have loved to have kept them both...especially Walker).Sometimes clubs get offers they cannot refuse(Ronaldo being sold by Man Utd) and I think at £8million for those two we should have sold them.
Apart from the two Kyles ,it's along time since we produced any quality from the academy...the reason Pemberton is now in?
Ultimately,if we had gambled and not gone up(and no one could have guaranteed promotion. eg Cardiff),we would be in more financial problems than what we are now.
My worry is the planning of the club. Warnock spent over £15million in his last 2 transfer windows and he got us relagated.Basically the club backed him with cash and he messed up. The board then gambled for 18 months under Robson then Blackwell. Something had to give and if we left it any longer without sales,I believe we would have been relegated last season.
The false economy for me is the money spent on loan players last season pushing uo our wage bill to approx £13million...the reason Robinson has gone ?
Ultimately,we have probably gone back 5 years financially. The problem has been spotted in time to prevent us going under. I would not want a further 'gamble' that would sink the club which you appear to want us to do. Where do you think the money for such a gamble is going to come from ?

It's easy when it's not your/your families money - the long term future of the club was put before another year of overated Premier League football. Get over it!
Oh BB, you've been promising us stuff for seasons now.
In more serious news, Barry the Lurpak man has melted.
Exactly. Come on guys, let's see those hands in the air and sing it with me... Brotherly, brotherly, brotherly luuuurve.
Feel that eternal sunshine brothers, just feel it.
