What I don’t get is all this talk of how difficult it is to get new formations set when the season has started. Obviously a good pre-season is optimal but we are shockingly bad at, for instance, pressing and setting ourselves in midfield. Its a piece of cake to play out and through midfield against us because our positional play is so bad. I blame Wilder 100% for that. FFS they are professional footballers so should pick up fundamentals within a week of training if they are coached properly. To argue otherwise is like saying the Royal Philharmonic would need 3 months to learn how to play a new tune…..
