The only real spell I had out of it was during uni (though I still had a season ticket for the first year) and probably the season following graduation, as I began to find my feet (get a job!). Still, I probably managed to get to about 8 games a season during that time, but I did miss it.

I’ve been going religiously my entire life (since I was old enough).

Loved every minute, even the shit periods.

Young family curtailed away attendances, though I always managed 4 or 5 a year. Now I’m back in full flow, and my lads come with me on the lash.

I’ve hardly missed a home game ( apart from when on holiday) for about 47 years, went to University in Sheffield so I could be close by and chose jobs that didn’t require weekend work, but I have had a couple of periods where I didn’t go to away games very much, mainly because it wasn’t fun anymore. Since Wilder though I’ve been lucky enough to get to nearly all of those though. Happy days. UTB

I got a full season ticket in the Adkins season, wish it was only a half one.

I stopped going when I was 17 as I had to work Saturday's, I'd go to the odd game but I didn't go regularly again until I was about 30 when I started going to at least 6 or 7 home games and a few away games where I could.

I started going to every home game again the season after Wednesday beat us to promotion from league 1, I had some strange sense that we were at the lowest point since the year I was born, so I needed to give my support at our lowest and that it would be great to see us get better and better.

One of my biggest regrets is not getting back into attending regularly for so long, I missed a massive period in our history and my life because I was more interested in drinking and girls, I had a great time though! But getting back involved when I did has been an amazing experience. The loyalty our fans showed when we were in the doldrums and the rise under Wilder is something I'll never forget and that I'll tell stories of to my future grandchildren.

Never stopped going entirely but had a spell late nineties when it was a bit of a chore and many a time bought another pint at 2.55pm cus I didn’t feel any urgency to go into the ground.

Yep. I started work in 1974 and used to work in a shop, so had to work every Saturday. That went on for 4 years. All day Saturday I’d be nipping downstairs to the stockroom where our stock-keeper had the radio on listening to the commentaries (actually may have just been latest scores).

Spent 2 years living abroad between 2002 and 2004. Gave my season ticket to my mate so he could go to the games. I flew back though for the play-off final v Wolves at Cardiff. Cost me more than my season ticket! And what a let down!

Apart from that I’ve been going to almost every home game and a fair few away games each season.

It was never anything to do with not being bothered to go. Although the Adkins era pushed me close.

After leaving school in June 1979 I immediately bought a season ticket holder for the 1979-80 season despite that my dad didnt buy one for himself. Playing cricket for Sheffield Deaf, I was asked to come to football training at Concord Park, enjoyed the sessions but had a problem on whether I would play Friendlies League matches on Saturdays or go to the Lane as I had a season ticket. My dad persuaded me to play football as "it is better than watching football" and that he would use my season ticket for the home games I am not able to go to. I carried on playing football on Saturdays regularly until the mid 1980s, I didnt go back to being a Lane regular again until 1988.

At least now we're in the premier league we can watch more games. I watched the semi vs Hull in Australia through a Skype call, now I can watch basically every game on the telly at a reasonable hour. Still not the same though. Hope it's a belter for you.

A regular at home games, late 60s early 70s. Joined up at 21 and apart from a few home or away games on leave, I was only regular when I was posted to Sheffield as recruiter for 18 months early 80s.
Caught the odd game on leave or in between postings until 97 when I came out and got a season ticket.
Last 10 years in Asia as an exile, apart from 2015, when I took my lads to their first blades game as I was in UK for 6 months.
Now forced to watch in the pub at 8 hours ahead of UK o’clock. lol

I stopped going about 2001 as moved away with work then family life kicked in and I was never near enough, rich enough or had the time all at the same time, I’ll health has now been added to that list but I dragged my son to any local games we could get to( helped when we were in league 1) , last few years have been pretty much the same, I was that fat idiot with my son who walked the teams out at Birmingham city as we were in corporate and won a game , Kevin Gage was in the same function room, even got to speak to Billy before kick off which was incredible
My son brought me a ticket to the west ham match on the kop and I loved it, the atmosphere, how friendly everyone is & then VAR stepping in at the last moment was just brilliant
I don’t know wether I’ll ever get to being a season ticket holder again but with the help of streams I’ve watched every minute of this season and I’ve felt connected for the first time in years, so I give thanks to the mighty blades, Chrissy Wilder, the songs and the internet ( I better say my family)

Same sorry tale as a few above. Had 4 kids in 6 years starting 1989 so that blew a hole in my Blades time for a number of years, I haven't lived in Sheffield since 1983 so it was always a 200 mile round trip on top of the domestics, still always managed some games particularly away matches, been pretty regular again now for last 10 years or so but my attendance pattern still means I struggle to get away tickets this season. It was much better when I could rock up anywhere in L1 and get in on the gate but of course no loyalty points, boo Wilder out.
