Aside from the fact he looks a total tit, does anyone else think this is probably not what McBurnie should be posting so soon after the drink driving bust?

I really want him to come good for us, but I just don't like what I'm seeing from him.

Reckon that was taken at Mint Festival in Leeds which was on Saturday 28th September ‘19.

Still, what the fuck has he got on? His mate looks a nice sensible lad too, nice calming influence no doubt, Nothing to worry about here 😉

I never said they chose to sign him. I said they endorsed the decision when asked.

Indeed. My point is that they have little or no influence on hiring decisions at all. And therefore do not deserveth the hot coal treatment. I mean, I know Wilder is the best manager we’ve ever had - and I mean that too. But he’s only human and will get some decisions wrong. It’s no one else’s fault but his I’m afraid.

He’ll rip it up if he does!

It’s obvious we need to widen our scouting network. I don’t know how anyone could not understand that? It needs to be “international” and be covering several continents. (Not Antarctica necessarily, because their footballers wear gloves and I don’t like that, it makes me think they are nesh), but most of the others. Including that one shaped like a horse’s head, but no more Carl Veart’s please!

it may not have been so necessary 3 years or even 2 years ago, because we weren’t such a big draw for foreign talent, but now we are. Currently a top 10 club (7th as of today) in the best football league in the world.

Read that last sentence again and sooaaak it up. It’s lovely!😀

We’ll be looking back on some of the current squad in a year or two’s time and thinking...”well, we thought they were “decent” at the time but thank God we moved them on because we needed far better than that”. (You know...a bit like looking back on the sad loss of players like Ryan Flynn and Matty Done, who some on here got really passionate about).

And those players in the current squad are:

all of them.

In time.

But some will reach their level of unimportance to the future of the club before others.

And at least two of these will be this season.

One is a chap who looks like the “before” advert for Gillette. The other is a chap whose hairstyle looks like a rubber on the end of a HB pencil.

How do you know how extensively we scout now?

I’d say that it’s a choice to sign from British teams but that doesn’t mean that we don’t look elsewhere.

Remember a few years Andy Carroll taliking about how he needed to stay away from Newcastle. Same seems to apply to Mcburnie and Leeds. Give a young daft lad 40 k a week and bring him back to his mates up north is an accident waiting to happen. Needs tight management but his tweets supporting Swansea and nothing for United suggest more needs to be done. Cmon Ollie get on board there is a Blades legend in there.

Provided that he doesn't break the law, or the clubs internal ethical standards, then he must purely be judged on what he does on the pitch both in training and on match day. That's the way it has always been.

If he acts the twat and he breaks rules or his performances suffer then he will be outed by CW. I will leave CW to manage the lad and the situation as he sees fit.

At the moment his performances in a Blades shirt have been lukewarm and he needs to up his game to command a starting shirt. Up to the lad himself as I think he clearly has ability, but if he doesn't cut the mustard, CW will move him on. You win some, you lose some, and whilst I want him to do really well for the club, I'm not really bothered about the lad himself. Don't know him personally, never will.

As for social media, then I would advise that he cuts out the advertising of his nights out on there, but that's a personal thing and I go back to my point about judging him on his standards in a football shirt. The lad can dress up as Mickey Mouse in his spare time for me, and profess undying love for his Swansea FC if he wants, cuts no ice with me. Do the business on the park sunshine and all will be rosie.

Wonder if Maupay is at the West London derby tonight? Probably.

Due in court this afternoon but I've not seen any reports of just how big a twat he was or how much it's going to cost him.

I think he should double down, drive himself to the court house after spending the afternoon in Wetherspoons 🤣

Denies the charge. Trial on 16th March.
This kosher?

How can he deny it when he's been properly tested, it's surely a matter of fact not opinion?

Maybe he has a smart arse lawyer that thinks he's found a procedural loophole?

If that's the case then I'd have a lot more respect for him if he just held his hands and said "I've been a twat", took his medicine and got on with life.

How can you say that when you haven't a clue about the circumstances ,maybe he wasn't driving ,you don't know why just automatically go into hang the fucker mode .

The reports said "he was stopped on Ninelands Lane" so assuming that he doesn't have a self drive car someone was driving.

If the police have arrested someone that wasn't sat in the drivers seat they must have been too pissed to be at work.

If the reports are wrong then he may have a point.

Nowhere have I suggested a hanging, merely that he is man enough to face up to his responsibilities based on the prima facie evidence in the public domain.

based on the prima facie evidence in the public domain
is the pertinent bit.

Apparently one and a half times over the limit. So maybe contesting the accuracy of the test?

I sense a spiked drink arguement if that figure is right.

I can't see that he could win an argument based on the accuracy of the machine when he would normally be tested on two separate machines

Normally. Perhaps he wasn’t. Thinking about it, if he could get the barman to testify he didn’t order alcohol and the police had received a ‘tip off’ there’s a circumstantial case that someone may have spiked him and set him up. There must be something or surely he’d just admit it and take the punishment, he’s not going to get jail for it.

Whatever happened it is likely that eventually "the truth will out"

He didn't need a lawyer ,hes never even had a driving lesson , 33 year old millionaire never learned to drive tells you plenty about him.

Barry Bannan didn’t have a license when he was caught DD as well.

There could be an argument the 2 readings were too far apart. But generally I thought Mr Loophole won most cases where the accused had opted for a blood test.

The fact that his drink was laced without his knowledge would not be a “defence” to the charge of driving with excess alcohol but could amount to a “ special reason” for not either endorsing his licence and/ imposing the mandatory disqualification of at least 12 months. McB would have to produce evidence (by calling witnesses) to establish that his drink had been laced and that he was not aware of it and that the lacing accounted for him being over the limit. The court would have to consider all the circumstances including probably the manner of his driving. It would probably mean calling the person who laced the drink to give evidence and that person could themselves be at risk of prosecution. Not easy and if the court did not believe him it is likely he would end up with a much stiffer penalty. Not an east case to put forward but GLTTL.
