I was more angry about the punditry - Jermaine Jenas should stick to his Jacamomo adverts - it's a dive but it's not a yellow, or it might not be a dive because he had a hand on his back. Fuck off.

He dived, and got a penalty, the dive was rumbled so he received a yellow for deceit - straightforward.

Wish these pundits would have the backbone to call a spade a spade and call them all diving, cheating twats.

I guarantee that their "analysis" of that blatant dive would have been reversed had it been some or other routine Croat, Frenchman or Spaniard.

There is a laughably transparent policy never to criticise any English player no matter how lamentable their showing or offence they commit. Bertrand shouldn't have been shown a red card either, so they said. If so that's another two VAR fuck-ups, overruling the ref, which would have been the real story.

Genial dimwit Tony Gale probably never got that memo for whichever channel he was on yesterday when he accused Baldock of play-acting, though.

They showed an entire montage of our game against Arsenal, I can’t remember them doing that for any of the other teams.
They usually show the goals from a Monday night game I believe, but that’s not enough for some it seems.

Why anyone values the gobshite comments of emptyheaded pundits that pander to the masses and have zero interest in the blades is puzzling. Massmedia will always talk about shite that appeals to the goldfish punters they can exploit - know this and treat them with equal contempt. We've a squad of genuine people - journeymen on a journey to the prem, After 3yrs those journeymen are the 7th best team in the worlds biggest league at a fraction of the cost of all the others. Its not good enough yet for a club with our glorious history but its the best for some time. Long may we continue being overlooked as hoofball basics by the fatuous, in the meantime we'll just keep glorying the boys and winning points.

To be fair they are all still a bit bemused by the way Wilder doesn’t really “tug his forelock” to the mighty Premier League. But If these people are still shocked or surprised by him or way his team play. It speaks volumes about their ignorance and ineptitude more than anything.
Unfortunately it might feed in to a view they have of Sheffield as much it does about United.
Don’t forget Sheffield is a sadly under-estimated city too.

They're not shocked. Why must we have this massive chip on our shoulder?

Crooks and Mills have been massive exceptions to the rule.

The way our tactics have been praised this season have got other clubs' supporters upset.

3 years ago playing in the third tier of English football.

Monday night, beat Arsenal at home. The following Saturday we get a draw away at West Ham cementing a 7th place in the table after 10 games.

Not a fucking mention.

Thanks.

Watched it for the first time last night and it's shitter than I remembered.

Never again.

The media have been properly bumming us left right and centre. Carragher on Monday night, Tim Cahill the other week. We've been getting loads of credit, and every fucker loves our manager.

We don't get too much of a mention after a 1-1 draw away against West Ham and some start kicking off.

What do we want to hear? We've been praised for the way we play, how good our football can be, our tactics etc. Did you want another dose of 'Oo look at little Sheffield United, those tiddlers were in League One a couple of years ago and they're having such a very good go of it.'

Grow a pair. 'They didn't say anything nice about us on the telly today and I'm so very upset.'

Man the fuck up, you sound like kids.

Totally agree....all I’ve been hearing about in the media is how brilliant Chris Wilder is.....all the media seem to think he’s the latest great thing.
The media NOW seem to think we’ll stay up no problem and NOW they think we play decent football.

Its become fashionable for pundits to jump on board the band wagon and say ”Sheffield United are so organised and out battle most teams but just saying that is a dis service because you know what?......they can actually pass the ball well and play some decent football too”.

Where as the other promoted clubs Villa and Norwich hardly seem to get a mention anywhere.

I think they've been pretty complimentary so far this season. Linekar especially.
A dull 1-1 draw away in a soulless stadium against West ham is hardly worthy of the first game or intensive analysis

Yeah to be fair, Lineker has been very complimentary on MOTD and on Twitter.

Motd complimentary again. Shearer especially. They focussed on super Johnny lundstrAM and our superb passes and movement for the goals.
Can't complain really. Maybe even bellend Lawro might tip us to win one weekend.

Shearer has been nothing but complimentary about us since the opening day, even when we've lost. Tim Cahill, who's turned out to be an excellent pundit, is also a huge Wilder fan, constantly singing our praises. Dion Dublin was also impressed yesterday.

Alan Shearer is actually growing on me.

I always thought he was a twat as a player* who was afforded allowances (both by referees and pundits) that no one else was. Didn't he stud Simon Tracey while at Blackburn and the only comment was that they were glad his knee held up to the "challenge"?

Then in his early punditry, he seemed overly concerned about upsetting people he knew within the game. With the passing of years, that caution seems to have lessened and his punditry improved.

The press have been effusive in their praise.

Take the match report from the Guardian:

As an aside, one thing I've noticed about the Premier League "audience" now, particularly from social media, is that they're not necessarily football fans. Rather there seems to be massive market in Africa and Asia who "follow" a team because it's fashionable there's no greater appreciation of football as a sport - Man City/Liverpool should always beat "Sheffield". Some of the output from the PL is not meant for us, it's meant for them.

* But one you'd love as your own player, obviously.

I remember a furious woman phoning Andy gray and giving him both barrels for that" hope his knee held up " comment ,wasn't you was it Linz ?

People just need to calm down , we’re a newly promoted team which at the moment hasn’t achieved anything ,
We’re still the new kids on the block so people are rightly ( in there mis guided views ) were going for the easy option of tipping us to go down
now after a couple of good results , some people are taking notice of us , and the excellent football we play at times , ( please Watford , and Everton away and ammers first half was poor ) 5 points I know and I’d take that every 3 games
It doesn’t bother me that MOTD doesn’t devote itself entirely to our club , we are not the team that gets the commercial coffers over flowing at the minute
Maybe if we stay up this season and crack on next , like Wolves then maybe we’d get the plaudits some on here crave
Let’s stop with all this stomping feet and wanting to been seen business
We are where we are on merit , I always look after our result to see how the bottom 3 have got on ,
We will go on a bad run this season every team does so I want us to have as many points on board as possible first , but all this me me me business well it’s embarrassing / sign of the times ?
I don’t know
I’ll be happy keeping under the radar , get to 40 points then see what happens
There’s a guy that rings BBC radio Sheffield who when he’s over in Manchester, they always talk about his club and it’s rightful place in the premier league , because there massive ,
Praise our club , support our club but just be a bit more level headed and enjoy the ride
I am and don’t care who’s talking about or praising us although I must admit I was proud when we got talked about after our game on MOTD last night
As always

I think Bianca Westwood for Sky was also.
Or maybe that was me that was impressed with Bianca Westwood
