The fact there is a photo of Tufty at that chippy should tell themall they need to know--a random small business in a working class area....the heart and soul of the city and the fan base..he must kept at SUFC irrespective of costs. He is THAT important to us !

Prince could have popped over to Man Fridays accross the road from the lane. They would still be warm by the time he got back to the boardroom.

Not used MT fish bar but when was Beckett's I was never out, best fish cake and chips ever; it is a rare treat for me now and we use Handsworth chippy not bad but mainly have fish & peas but like chips occasionally.

It is a good chippy, we still call it Becket's rather than Manor Top Fish Bar.

Tony's in Mosborough is very good though.
Still cooks in dripping does Tony! Really like that. Not tried the Manor Top one for years. Will pop in and get a briefcase full for the Burnley game and join Princey in the Boardroom for a bit of pre-match mutual mastication.

And he'd get that if he went to Real Madrid?

Manor Top Fish Bar finally getting the recognition it deserves. Elite chippy. Best fish in town.

Couldn't agree more. Never had anything less than perfect from there.
It's location puts a few off trying it, but they are missing out big time. Never mind, all the more for us eh? 😉

It's really good mate, and I am ultra picky when it comes to my Fish & Chips. The batter has to be crunchy yet light, the chips crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle, and of course the fish has to be moist and succulent.
It ticks every box, every time for me. The fish are chuffing massive as well, so great value.

One of the old girls who works in there properly, and I mean properly hates the Pigs too. I always have a good crack with her and you'll get a few more chips on the pile if she knows you are a Blade.

Depends who’s cooking. Noticeable difference.

Middle fish please.....

I wonder if they told the Prince the chips were cooked in pork dripping 🤫

It's normally a youngish chap when I go in. There used to be an older bloke too but I haven't seen him for a long time.
Like I say, never had anything less than quality myself

The older guys were far better imo.

Best shop ever was the one at the bottom of Duke Street ( a few shops up from the Samson pub) when I was a kid.

Never sampled that one. I take it it's long gone?

It's still Becketts to me. Although the chippy is ok, it's not a patch on Brenda's just off the Moor. Her curry sauce and rissoles are the best!

Been in the business a very long time.

I hope he's not paying for a chip butty with The Premiership money

It's all gone, already taking out payday loans.

Good article here. And one about Moose Power. :D
I've got many issues with this.

Firstly, I followed a link to the Mail, and now feel dirty

2nd - I thought wilder ate his chips at 2 steps before catching a bus to go out for the night. Now we discover his missus uses a chippy half the city away. How dysfunctional is that.

I have a feeling this story may have been a fiction of the blades media team

I'm a bit shy when it comes to opening conversations with strangers about things like football. But from what you're saying, if I walk in there with my silk shirt unbuttoned down to the navel, to expose my tattoo of the famous 1970 promotion winning Blades side, it might Currie favour with her and she'll give me a few extra chips? Then it won't be as Dearden? ;)
