Dunno, never get any![]()
I've tried to Google it. It seems it varies from station to station. BBC stations pay £13 a minute apparently. I imagine that Brooklands Radio via Mixcloud is considerably less.
Who will rid me of this turbulent priest !Look out Banana, they're onto you!
Just hope they don't figure out that I'm the Archbishop of Canterbury.

How did you stumble across that picture?

Spotify is the new tits.5066 posts. I think I’ve read all of them and don’t recall seeing any bosoms.

It wss fresh in my mind for that very reason.
What a terrific performance that was.
Even better when you consider that he read the script, thought it was too verbose and edited it down. Genius. It wss fresh in my mind for that very reason.

It's all about predicted number of listeners GB, rural stations will pay a pittance of the big city companies, but to the musicians concerned they'll be grateful for any play. There's a methodology that I used to be familiar with, but in essence it all comes down to the number of ear-holes a radio station reckons tunes in on a regular basis.
I remember back in the 80s local BBC stations were heavily restricted in the amount of music they could play because of the royalty cost. There was a decent living to be had from music in those days, now long gone.

I’ve bought much of my record collection again on CD because
1. It means I won’t damage them further.
2. I don’t have to turn it over after 20 minutes, I can just stick the album on and listen to all of it.
3. Can stick them on my phone.
Awful player!Aye
We never gave Luke Beckett much of a chance afore we moved him on to Oldham
Not for young bands trying to make a living, its not.
Young bands don’t make money from making CDs as the listening is too limited to the person buying it. In fact it can become more popular with a wider audience. when the argument is put forward that ‘you only earn a tenner from it in a year’ it is time to consider another profession as in real terms it would equate to a cd, to put it bluntly you are not popular and like most bands will not likely succeed , do it as a hobby. Hope you get a break through by the way.Not for young bands trying to make a living, its not.

Well Spotify pay per stream, which needs to last a minimum of 30 seconds (pretty much the industry standard across all streaming platforms). They pay between $0.006 and $0.0084 per stream, depending on how many you get.
I worked it out yesterday but I’m unsure whether he wants his identity revealed so I’ll say nowt for now.Was it a local band you were in Nick?, just wondering if I (and others on here) would have seen at you some point, over the years.
and........er......come on Maupay, put pen to paper, one way or another! (just to keep this relevant!)

I'm 58 Andy, and well past it! It doesn't affect me at all. It was possible to make a bit of money in the past but its the young bands I feel sorry for, much harder for them than it was for old duffers like me.
