I honestly can't understand all the negative comments and doubts over this guy. We have to accept we are now in the Prem and players cost! Gone are the days when a Prem club can mooch around picking up promising young strikers from other Prem clubs or top half Champ clubs for a bag of crisps and a red balloon.

We have bought raw potential. He's 23 but has hardly kicked a ball in 3 years. At 20 years of age he was valued at almost 4 times the price of Neal Maupay. Maupay went to a middle of the road Champ club, was able to cement his place and be the main man.... and last season finally started to deliver. Mousset has had to battle against a couple of other top strikers at a lower end, but never in real danger of relegation, Prem league club. He hasn't had a run of games to get into the grove and show what he can do.

At the price we have reportedly paid, this to me is a very sensible and exciting signing. If he comes good we have a real bargain. If he doesn't quite make it, we don't pay the add-ons and sell him off to a Champ side for maybe a couple of million less than we paid. It's a no brainer for me.

If we want to complete in the big boys league, we have to grow a pair and do what the big boys do.
It's bound to be negative when you have the shit manager we have. I mean look at his record, especially the last three seasons. Done fuck all and got really lucky cos we got Billy Sharp wot scores goals .

Don't even know why we need a manager when all Kevin needs do is come on here and get some advice every day from the real experts.

We clearly have a plethora.

Wilder Aht.

That the same Fulham who spent over 100mil?
Villa are following the Fulham model, we're miles behind.

I knew Fulham signed a lot of players and spent a lot of money last season, I didn't realise it was almost an entire match day squad. No wonder they went down - the team spirit must have been awful.

Sorry buts its a strange signing.
Why so strange? Don't you trust Wilder's judgement? Don't you believe in unfulfilled potential a la Didsy,Egan,O'Connell, etc.?

I love that we have a whole load of jigsaw pieces most likely to complete the picture we envision, in whatever combo CWAK see fit.

I reckon they're not bad at this Manager and Coaching lark.

We don't buy Ferrari's mate, we buy BMW's and turn em into Ferrari's. UTB

Certain number of games, above certain amount of goals and us staying up in the Prem are 3 of the add on's we've apparently included in the deal.
They were happy to sell at a pretty low upfront fee as long as we included a 20% sell on.

Allegedly.

Hope so. And hope it's 20% of profit.

Not that it will stop the "£10m" shite appearing everywhere.

These success based add on deals are ideal. With these the only condition required to make it a good deal is survival. If we stay up we can more than afford any add ons. If it's based on individual success too, then that's even better.

This must be a late April fool!!!
Foxy, remove the green band, as I've read a million times on here, "TRANSFERS ARE NOT DONE ON A WEEKEND!!"
This video done on Thursday/Friday ? cos i cannot remember it raining on Saturday or Today, and i'm in S2.

Anyone else think we intentionally announced the signing on a Sunday to get us more media exposure? Perhaps so someone like a Maupay might notice and be more inclined to join us over say Villa?

Now for McBurnie and I am happy.

You mean Le McBurnie?

Wilder loves a good sell on clause.

What's not to like about this transfer? As CW says he's big quick and got skills. All things we need more of in our team. Basically he's this season's Christian Nade but with a smile on his face.

Plus a good Robinson doppelgänger won't half confuse some defences, let alone the fans/commentators! And given some fans' track record with misspellings of simple British names and our own ground, I for one can't wait to see some of the variations on his name!

Thought I was clear in stating that view was held by posters on the BBC thread. Have you looked at It? I obviously did. I also bothered to post on it and refute the idea. Have a go yourself.

You seem to have weirdly took this as a personal dig when I was just refuting the point being made on the BBC...

And I absolutely can’t be arsed to do that. Thanks for the offer all the same.

Maybe you weirdly came over that way with the way you worded your post.
Funny how things appear when posted on a forum or sent as a text eh.

All pretty logical when buying a young, high-potential striker. Virtually no deal done now is a simple fee unless there's a contractual clause; even the ridiculous deal which took Coutinho to Barcelona was about 25% add ons.

Very much agree Balham.

The problem is Mousset is worth anything from 5 million to 25 million, the valuations between being a failure in the PL and being a success is massive.
He has big potential but quite often potential goes no where.
Regards negotiation we say “based on his stats he’s currently worth 5 million”
But then AFB reply “yeh but he’s hugely talented and if he clicks he’s worth 25 million”

So the logical stance which backs up both arguments is to pay a base transfer of 5 million then have loads of creative add-ons based on how he performs.
Would imagine some of our add-ons are offering a share of our future revenue.
For example if we stay up, we give these clubs an extra xxxx amount.
Or we could offer a % pay-off regards any profit from a future transfer.

This is what makes transfers complicated, there are so many facets to the negotiation UNLESS you’re Brentford of course.
According to their fans they are special, being the only club in the UK who set a base price and never ever negotiate it.

Makes perfect sense if so. And I love that we insist on meckin em earn their coin.

No joyriders at Bramall Lane:cool:

Loving these behind the scenes videos. Also found it very interesting how Ravel Morrison was speaking towards the end of the video. He sounds up for it and excited.
Maybe just me, but I thought there were quite a few 'cool welcomes' there, Morrison and Egan excepted. Understandably, Leon was very curt.

It was Sharp and in particular Basham that i noticed.

It was the same with Robinson in Portugal. Don't think there's anything in it, the cameras are there and it's a bit awkward.

Ravel sounds great. Love him already. Hopefully it all works out, a bit of responsibility within the team, some younger players to look after will help too.

I noticed that too, was nice to see him so positive, the first interview he did when he joined he seemed fed up and not happy but it could have been nerves, seemed very Natural on this and so up beat and ready for the season!
