Can't agree. With a back 5, surely you'd have 4 Basham 5 Egan 6 O'Connell.

I see you're point but I don't think defenders should ever wear number 4.

Number 4 should always be the midfield rock, think Makelele at Chelsea and Vieira at Arsenal.

I wouldn't be 100% happy with Basham being number 8 but it works because of his versatility as both a defender and a midfielder. I've always thought of him as being a midfielder.
