After much debate and most disagreed with me thinking strikers should be a priority I think our first upgrade is someone who can keep Norwood on the bench...

Agreed. I think we should look at Fulham to show just how successful you can be by decimating the spine of your team. Ensuring Egan, Fleck and Norwood don't get a look next season (a la Carney, Sessegnon and MacDonald) is the only sure fire way to guarantee success.
A few quality additions here and there and let's see what happens, spending £120 million is no guarantee of success so lets at least give the players that have got us here a chance.
I am amazed and couldn’t disagree more with youAfter much debate and most disagreed with me thinking strikers should be a priority I think our first upgrade is someone who can keep Norwood on the bench...
We need someone who can let one go with power from outside the box, perhaps the prem keeper might keep it out but a fat lad from Sheffield will be there to tap it in. Norwood has no power but can see a pass. The thing is I was saying our first upgrade should be Norwood, I think Billy and Dave will score in the prerm with decent service.I think Norwood was playing with an injury for months towards the end of the season, limiting his mobility quite a bit.
Maybe after the summer this part of his game will be better, making him even more influential.
If we can find an upgrade that's within reach for us then give Paul Mitchell a pay rise.

I'd take all three of those to be honest.

Contender for player of the season not just at the club, but throughout out league polls and opinion. Was sheer class for most of the season
Anyone that keep Norwood on the bench will be a 20 or 30 million plus.
I'd take all three of those to be honest. Quite why we are not troubling ourselves with the likes of them is a bit of a mystery. Well, no it's not. It's because despite our expectations and figures like £170m being 'available', it's simply bollocks. If we spend any more than fifteen million before the end of the transfer window my arse is a box of doughnuts. Hence us chasing Brentford's second best attacking option.
Fucking McCabe and the bog roll prince for you.

Norwood not shooting more when in range and thought that he also disappeared at times when we were under pressure. I rest my case, love Ollie but my argument was that it is a position where we start the upgrades.Completely agree. Although at times I was frustrated with Norwood not shooting more when in range and thought that also he disappeared at times when we were under pressure. That's probably indicative of how high he set the bar when he first came into the side. Knowing now that he needed a hernia op since Christmas shows just what a good player he is, to play with restrictions and still be one of the best in the league speaks volumes. If we are to bring in someone that keeps him on the bench - well we have either unearthed a gem at a bargain price, or suddenly been in a position to spend 20+ million on an established top international. Both of which are highly unlikely.
We need to look at improving those around him, giving him the ability to do what he is good at and pull the strings in the middle of the park.
Yes it does, if you think Ollie is our best player and he is on the bench next season we might stay up.Do we really need to start questioning players like Norwood?
I’m all for constant improvement and not standing still but it doesn’t start by benching our best player.

but...Billy SharpIf we don’t sign a striker/forward/anybody who can score approximately 13 goals, we are getting relegated. Put that in your sauce bottle and suck on it, chief.![]()
Look, don't get me wrong I adore Ollie but there is a reason why he has been sold on once his team has been promoted. The premiership battles will need a man with Ollies touch in mid -field but must be a dog of war who when he has won his battle can strike a powerful shot from outside the box. Unless he can thread a needle through prem defenses to our new 30 mill strikers. Be honest, do you think we can out play in mid field and recycle out wide looking for the right ball into the box in the prem. If Wilder can sign who he wants Ollie will be on the bench or loaned out, no room for sentiment. Feel free to bring this post up when Ollie has 5 goals and 10 assists next season I will love to eat humble pie.Deary me. He’s probably one of the few players in the squad that has a ‘premier league touch’. If he’d just played that season for any other Championship side, we’d be clambering to sign him for £10m+.
