I'd take all three of those to be honest. Quite why we are not troubling ourselves with the likes of them is a bit of a mystery. Well, no it's not. It's because despite our expectations and figures like £170m being 'available', it's simply bollocks. If we spend any more than fifteen million before the end of the transfer window my arse is a box of doughnuts. Hence us chasing Brentford's second best attacking option.

Fucking McCabe and the bog roll prince for you.

Yeah. As said (I know you're a bit 'slow') it is hoped - least of all by me - that these non-PL experienced yet incredibly spendy additions can step up - and across - the ability gap between Championship and Premiership and produce the results. I know people like you are getting all tumesced and jizzy about 3-0 wins against Mighty Matlock Town, but a few Bournemouth supporting colleagues of mine are laughing their arses off that we took Lys Mousett off their hands for ten very large and gave them Brooksy for next to fuck all. And the only real PL experience lies at the feet of a 'legs gone' former player of ours who is now in his last years in the game. We're hoping he'll be the answer to Mo Salah, Firmino and Sergio Aguero, aren't we?

Let's hope they contribute to our success in surviving at a level they've never played at or you're arse will resemble a dropped trifle.

I'm optimistic they will be as good as we hope, but face it, we should have had Freeman off Stevenage four or five seasons ago for about one eighth of what we've just paid, and we are still going round in circles over Maupay and McBurnie.

why shouldnt they

deane agana did it
vardy went from non league to prem winner
why must you see us as only capable of signing duffers

theres not many english forwards in the prem that didnt start at a lower level
most of our first 2 opponents forwards only had lower league experience when they came up

we have sourced the cream of the championship, which should compete with 7 to 20th clubs in the prem
we all have the top 6 to contend with, but we now have good back up a decent bench and hungry players

id point out brooksy had only scored as many goals for us as mousset from more game time
but that woulnt fit the plot would it
and Brooks seems very injury prone wouldnt you say
was out out half the time with us and now at bournemouth
no good being that good if you only play 19 games a season at best

You may like to remind them that the"fuck all" they gave us for Brooks was actually more than the "ten very large" that we gave them for Lys.

We all got a bit sentimental when Norwood was keeping our “best player” out of the side. But when we all realised that he was very good upgrade on the previously brilliant Coutts......we all soon accepted it as natural progression of the team. The key this season is to find players who can put pressure on Norwood and Fleck. We definitely need a better quality “bench” this season. If we’d had decent cover for Coutts in our first season back in the Championship. We might now have been looking forward to our second season in the Prem.

This is factually incorrect.

Norwood did not keep 'our best player' out of the side. Coutts suffered a career changing injury, he was never going to be the imperious player who previously formed what I consider to be our best midfield, alongside Fleck and Duffy. The dynamic of this trio was far, far different to that which we've seen since Norwood was purchased. Wilder did very well to get Norwood for such a low price, and as good a player as Norwood is, we now have a midfield which, whilst effective (although it seems that Duffy is to part company with the Blades), doesn't get a grip on opposing teams the way it used to when Couts, Fleck, and Duffy played alongside each other.

If Coutts had avoided serious injury I'd wager that he'd have coped admirably in the Premier division, but that's not going to happen now that he's playing for a team in a lower division. Suggesting that Norwood's presence kept Coutts out of the side is a complete misinterpretation of the facts.

I can see Morrison being the biggest threat to Norwood's place in the eleven .if fit and firing on all cylinders he is more than capable of playing as a deep lying playmaker and probably less likely to lose possession
Possibly more athleticly suited to covering the centre backs but all depends on how match fit we get him

Yeah. I'd say that Brooksy was performing quite well for us on a regular basis whereas Mousset ... erm ... ah. Yeah.

I'd say that Brooks had a very good 3/4 games for us. The rest involved him running and giving it away, or being muscled off the ball.

Where young Brooks is concerned, people are keen to get all giddy as it's a young player. Fact is, he was still only a prospect and was still behind Duffy in his chosen position. He was far from 'performing well on a regular basis'.

You have the advantage of going to matches and seeing what actually happens though.

Agree with every word of that.

We have currently paid Bournemouth less than a third for Mousset than they have paid us for Brooks. Don't let those facts get in the way though.
