Now the dust has settled on an absolutely amazing season and thoughts turn to our return to the big time I was thinking the other day about how we always seem to have to have a scapegoat, player to moan about and how great it would be if that wasn't the case next season.

This group of players have been absolutely brilliant for the most part this season but the vast majority have spent their careers in The Champ and below with some still with us from our time in L1 and i'm sure a lot of them will get a chance to make the step up so if some of them don't perform next season instead of the usual "they're shit" slagging off that goes on it would be great if we could all just accept that maybe The Prem was just a step too far for some of them. I think they've earnt that.

Some will make the step up and some won't, maybe even some we expected to but they all deserve our respect for what they have achieved the last few years.

Just a thought!

There are a few players who have come with us a long way from the days of league one, most of them were clearly a class above that level and by their own admission had the club “sold to them” by wilder, we have a bond now with these players that should any start to struggle they won’t be singled out like in the old days, as for any new arrivals, if they don’t match the effort and application of what we already have as a minimum then they’ll not be on the pitch for us to moan at..

The biggest blade is in the dugout, and he’s set his stall out on what he expects, they do what he wants and the fans will be right behind them, even on a bad day, which will surely come this season..

Thanks for that, mate.

There is a theory that many people need to channel for their life frustrations, negativity and resentments.
Some people are like pressure cookers, the pressure builds up until at some point they have no choice but to snap.
Once their released the pressure of their negative feelings they feel much better.

So instead of snapping and shouting at the wife/ girlfriend or kids.
Their method of self therapy is to shout abuse at the ref, manager or players.
They look for worse performing player so that they feel justified that they can be made a scapegoat.

Yes, it’s known as the Utter Tosser Theory. It’s named after it’s founder, the eminent Austrian psychologist Utter Tosser.

There will be a clamour for a certain player ( probably Jags or someone equally unrealistic ) and when he's not signed, the bloke who is for that position will become temporary scapegoat before he plays and initial scapegoat once he makes his first poor pass In a friendly.

However now we are in the PL, scapegoats will now be counted in the attendance figures.

I won promotion by selecting Leeds to win against Wigan in our LMS game...

I’m a hero, me.

I had Leeds and Norwich to win every week in a double, the first weekend I won, after that I went on a right losing streak as we got promoted..

I’m the fifth Beatle as well, not bad eh.

We’ll have a joint open top bus tour and civic reception. Well, we’ll catch the 3a and walk to the Fat Cat...

After the Bristol City disaster, I decided to go for a run on Saturday morning before heading up to Preston to clear my head. I couldn't go for a run before travelling to Birmingham because I had food poisoning. I then totally forgot the whole "pre-match run" thing before Millwall (maybe food poisoning related). Having re-gained my senses, I made a point of going for a pre-match run before every remaining game (Forest, Hull, Ipswich). My Strava followers loved it, believe me. On the last day of the season, I woke up so incredibly hungover that I couldn't face it.

So, in a roundabout way, what I want to say is that I'm very sorry, but it appears that Sheff Utd winning has become reliant upon me doing a pre-match run. While I may have got us into the autos, I might have cost us the title. And knowing what I'm like, I can't make any promises for next season.
