I expect you're about right, though I wouldn't be surprised if we spent a tad more, based on what Cardiff (a good team to compare ourselves too IMO) spent this year.
I'd say we "need" about 7 signings, let's hope the budget will stretch that far.

I understand people saying "we get £x million" just for being promoted but we don't get all of that money straight away and some of that will already be accounted for (bonus payments, wage increases, stadium improvements etc). We'd also need to set some aside for the January window.
Completely agree, some people are being a little too simplistic when it comes to the broadcast income, for the reasons you outline above.
One thing is disagree with you (and probabaly a lot of others) is January though: If I was running a football club, I wouldn't hold any back for January. I'd spend any transfer budget in the summer, when players are cheaper, and available to you for the full season, rather than the second half - but what do I know?
