Who exactly is claiming we aren't going to make it?My goodness, I hope the players and Chris aren't reading any of these threads.
Don't you trust Chris and the players? Haven't you learnt anything from the last 2 campaigns? This is the first manager where I've felt that he won't let us down. He won't play random players that haven't played in a while. He won't leave out a vital player because he's fallen out with them.
We have a TEAM of players. We have a fantastic management TEAM. We have no 'star' player, no managers favourites, we have a team of players who play for one another and their management team.
Please, let's have faith....and let's show how we can all be a team of supporters on Saturday and be united in getting our team back in the Premiership.

Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow.
You’ve said quite a lot already!
I’m very confident we’ll go up in automatic. I still think we can finish as Champions. I thought we’d blown it after the Millwall game. But that was because I fully expected Leeds and Norwich to carry on winning. They haven’t and we have! It could turn round again in one match but the chances of that happening are far slimmer than the chance that we’ll put it beyond doubt with a win on Saturday. So, great anticipation is my feeling.
I don’t believe in jinxes and I don’t think it’s being over-confident to feel excited about it. It’s just fantastic to be in this position. I’m loving every minute of it and even if we don’t win on Saturday I still think, with 2 games remaining, we will do it.
That’s down to belief in this manager and group of players. Like someone else already said, I can’t recall a United team in the past 40 years that has been so consistent and reliable.
Billy will be back too! He will lead us to the promised land. Believe!![]()
It's got nothing to do with trusting the players.
Anything can happen in football.
I said it the other day and I'll say it again, If Leeds can lose against 10 man Wigan and Brentford then we can quite easily lose against Ipswich and Stoke.
Leeds were very small odds to finish 2nd after we drew against Millwall but now it has swung back the other way. It could still swing back again.
It's not over until it's over.
I've just put 20 quid on both a draw (11/2) and an Ipswich win (16/1). I figure it's worth it if we win and at least I'll have some financial compensation if we don't.
I honestly don't understand the thinking behind that. I know a lot of people do it and the logic is sound, but I don't want to be financially compensated for a shit result, I don't want to feel that little bit better about a defeat - or possibly failing to go up. It will be shit and I want it to feel shit, full shit. With bits in. I'd rather put money on the Blades and gamble on an emotional and financial all-or-nothing.I've just put 20 quid on both a draw (11/2) and an Ipswich win (16/1). It’s just rumours.I Don't Want to Know how long it took you to think of that, but these are my Dreams so you're welcome to Go Your Own Way with your Second Hand News.
Which bookmaker?
Ipswich are 20/1 with Ladbrokes.

(I'm speaking as a non-gambler).
Fuck knows lad, I've gone from bouncing round the room with a Wilder mask on to quietly sat in the same room working out all the possible permutations of goal difference and such was my new found spiralling negativity, Leeds needed fewer and fewer goals each time I worked it out. They went from needing 11 goals to only needing 3 following my ending prediction of a heavy 6-0 defeat to Stoke. I've read this thread though, and now my sheet of workings are in the shredder and I'm back in Wonderland. Are we all over-confident now, or under-confident? I’m confused.
And you reckon that will make you feel better?I've just put 20 quid on both a draw (11/2) and an Ipswich win (16/1). I figure it's worth it if we win and at least I'll have some financial compensation if we don't.

I have to say this is one if the best posts iv read on here, my feelings exactly!Don't get me wrong, something feels different this time. CW is different from the managers of the past. He means business, he makes sure we play our way without concentrating or trying to stop the opposition (like warnock did) with negative tactics. With CW we play our way, something I have never really seen from Utd in my life (I'm 32). The only other team that played fluently and positively was Spackmans team before that dreaded day when Deane and Fjortoft were sold. Even when successful, the style of football and management/tactics concentrated on the opposition, if that makes sense. For me that's why we've never won or even scored in a playoff final.
With all that said, even with as much faith in this team and CW that I have, I cant help but reign it in and see it when I believe it. I'm scarred. In my entire life watching the blades we have lost every single "pinnacle" game. Relegated from prem on last day when it seemed impossible in early 90's, losing to Newcastle at old Trafford in FA Cup semi final, losing to Palace in play off final, losing to liverpool in league Cup semi, losing to arsenal at old Trafford (Graham poll, David seaman) FA Cup semi, losing to wolves at millennium stadium play off final, losing to Burnley playoff final, losing to Huddersfield playoff final, throwing away a point advantage over the pigs and them going up instead of us, losing to Hull FA Cup semi and relegated last game of prem season after tevez gate(not in cronilogical order).
My entire life supporting Utd has been plagued with huge disappointments. I mean... I've been to every playoff final and not even seen us score a goal other than in a failed penalty shoot out.
My point is, it feels different this time but I'm scarred from my entire life experience watching the red and white wizards. We always, as a fanbase, get ahead of ourselves and over confident and then get that Horrific come down and punch in the stomach.
I can't help but contain my emotions until we've got there. I don't want to feel that level level of disappointment again where I've been too confident so I just can't let myself believe it's happening until it happens.
Like I said, this time feels different. Wilder is a different animal and leader to anything we've had in the past and I think that we will do it. But, my scarred past, as a blade, is telling me that "it's Utd they always fall at the last hurdle, they always let me down, something always happens to eff it all up!".
Jesus, I'm fighting a Horrific internal battle of emotions! Just don't get carried away and think it's won. Ipswich have no pressure unlike us. (my dad was telling me about Utd getting relegated, back in the day (80's? ), with loads of games to go and going on a crazy run afterwards where they won something like 6 of the last 7). It won't be a walkover. Don't build yourself up to get let down again!
Wow, the emotions you go through supporting this football club.
One thing is for sure, I f**king live this club and that will never change.
UTB and bring on the Premier League (hopefully).
