I was another one who was unsure about Robson being appointed - but because I knew I was sceptical I made extra efforts to try to keep an open mind and balanced opinions.
Then he started to say things like "the players aren't as good as I'd been told they were" - and having a pop at Morgan etc etc. Just what a recently relegated side needs to hear!
For me the man was an appalling manager - I honestly believe we would have been better off if he'd had kept away from the club and let Morgs run the show as skipper. No manager at all was a better option that Robson!!
Can't remember when my patience ran out (probably away at Bristol whenever that was) - and I was one of those in the car park (though some of the person abuse he took was too far beyond the pale for my liking)
So far I'm still behind KB. I've never had much confidence in him, though I put that down to his lack of charisma (he's no Bassett or Warnock in that dept!). We have shown we can play good football - but for whatever reason KB (or maybe it's the players as others have suggested?) seems too ready to resort to direct balls up to Hendo. And it's difficult to know how good/bad we are with so many players crocked/suspended including at least 3 first team regulars.
For what it's worth I think it's largely impossible to compare managers by using stats as there are too many variables. The division we're playing in, the finances available, the expectations of the fans etc etc all have a major bearing and have changed from manager to manager. I would say that KB hasn't made his mark in the way of Dave or Neil - and I think his lack of "personality" will hinder him there - but IMO, some of the stick on this thread is more about fans frustration than about KB's record.
I have considerable doubts that KB will ever achieve what Dave or Neil did at the Lane - but they had their critics too - and KB is undoubtedly a far better manager than Robson. I'm still undecided if he's good enough though
