Confess your unpopular opinions regarding SUFC

we all moaned about how slow Maguire was when he played and how he couldn't read the game, but now he's England's golden boy he's our lad

Unpopular opinion:

It's almost like allowing your players to get hammered during pre-season doesn't help their stamina, fitness or conditioning. Or those players getting drunk and kicking off on each other doesn't help them play well as a team or cohesive unit. Or give everything to help each other out.

Who could have possibly known?

Here’s an unpopular opinion...

Giving long contract extensions to players in their mid 30s like Leon Clarke and Mark Duffy is stupid.

Here’s another one...

Leon Clarke hit a 6 month purple patch (including 4 goals in one game) and will struggle to get anywhere near that total again. Our absolute dependency on LC will leave us short of goals and fighting to stay up.

And one more...

Chris Wilder struggles with a plan B, and as soon as we concede first we might as well all go home.

Cheers.

Henderson is no better than Moore.

Egan is no better than Stearman.

Woodburn is no better than Brooks (without an ‘e’).

We haven’t moved forward one inch.

But we’ve spent some serious money, chasing rainbows!

We will be in the bottom half of the table at the end of September.

Wednesday will be above us.

Sorry to spoil the party chaps but I think most or all of these could come true.

Last season was our best chance in the last 12 years to get back to the Prem. Poor Wilder wasn’t backed properly and this season he’ll be made a victim by some of you, as we struggle to convince in the first few months.

I see it’s coming true already! The slashers are out in force after Wilders blood after just 1 game.

It’s going to be even worse this coming week after we’ve crashed out at Boro eh?

Please go back and read what I put. We’ve signed players who are no better than what we had before. So we haven’t moved forward, we really haven’t.

But Wilder will get it right soon. It took him over a month in his first season to realise that he needed Fleck and Coutts in the midfield. He’s making daft mistakes again, picking Lundstram instead of Duffy FFS! But let us lose a few more and the penny will drop and we’ll see Duffy and Stearman and maybe even Coutts back in the team, then things will change.

The 'Wilder revolution' is over before it even fucking started.

The internet just repeats itself. One person states something, others see it on the internet and think it must be true and then repeat it. Eventually it is on the internet so much that "it must be true". Your link doesn't show that the person who wrote that did any research, it just repeats a statement found from... where?
It's the unfortunate balance to ever more information at our fingertips that the internet has brought us.
When you start to look into it, you'll find that the claim of oldest stadium isn't that clear cut and you have to apply so many conditions and caveats to the statement, you might as well just admit that it isn't.
But then I don't need to tell you that, it is all in a thread that you started. https://www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/is-bramall-lane-the-oldest-stadium.55691/

Look, can't we just agree that :

The club is shit

The owners are shit

Apart from a handful of real fans, the fans are shit.

Our away fans are shit.

The Kop is shit.

The atmosphere is shit.

Wilder can be a bit shit.

Some players can be a bit shit, other players are shit.

Anyone we beat is shit.

Every player we have ever sold became an absolute world beater the moment they left.

The "shutting down debate" claimants arent shit - see handful of real fans above.

It'll save so much time.......

No, sorry, can't agree with you there. What proof do you have that some fans aren't shit? Linky?

It was a tongue in cheek post fella.

This.
We should have never put ourselves in that position.
I still can't fathom how a team can miss their first 3 penalties and still win?
We moan about the age of our current strike force, but think back to this game where 34yo(?) Cresswell started up front on his own...

The thought that some posters have evolved from enthusiastic amateurs into fully paid-up members of the professional footballing class.

The idea that having an idea posted makes it worthy of being printed. Just because a poster can write joined-up messages shouldn't provide for a literary free for all.

If Chris actually put Woodburn on the pitch he would be a good player for us, I cant see how he gets in the Wales or Liverpool squad if he hasn't got summat about him. I think Chris has decided he doesn't like him for some reason. Instead he plays Leon Clarke because he (for lack of a better word) fancies him.

> Peter katuro couldn’t finish his dinner.

Yes but didn't that make it all the more sweeter when he did score? (which wasn't too infrequent to be fair)

My unpopular opinion? I was a big fan of Bobby Ford (under Spackman at least).

I didn't solely blame Don Givens for our relegation to the fourth division, but as he was part of the squad that didn't accumulate enough points in the previous 45 game he can share it.
