He should know that wilder only slags other managers off after we've lost.Attempt at humour on the Maguire question failed but he was doing ok until 6 minutes in when he asked the Lampard question about him walking into a championship job with no experience. Not a bad question as most people have commented on it but that really irked CW, he doesn't like criticising other managers and the interview fell apart after that including a reference to a tricky period of games coming up when CW had already said it wasn't a tricky period earlier in the interview.
CW doesn't interview well before games, maybe questions from other interviews he referred to about it being a difficult set of games had pissed him off or maybe he wanted his Bud AG to do the interview. Nothing wrong with Radio Pig mixing it up with different interviewers as it keeps managers on their toes but they've got to keep the flow going when CW has a bit of a flounce otherwise as happened here it disintegrates into meaningless drivel.
Exactly what I’ve thought with the last ones with this guy tooChris seems a bit pissed off in his interview ..not sure if he likes the new guy from radio sheff or what but there was no laughing and joking like he does with Andy Giddings ..
I've listened to 11 seconds so far and I reckon it's the first question that did it, what a poor way to start off an interview that is supposed to be about Sheffield United. Why ask Chris Wilder a question about Harry Maguire and an inflatable Unicorn?
Got to disagree on with that mate. I don’t think we’ve ever had a manager who’s come across so well in his interviews by and large.Isn't he always like that in interviews though?
I love CW but he doesn't come across great in interviews, quite hostile a lot of the time.
I listened and was embarrassed for the interviewer.
Someone needs to vet his questions before he gives an official interview, the questions on Lampard, Maguire etc were pathetic.
He did'nt seem to have a problem with James Shield asking about Lampard in the Sheffield Telegraph,
But after backing Lampard to prove a success at Pride Park, the lifelong United supporter said: "It's a difficult job, we all understand that. Frank will understand that as much as anyone else.
"He's been a top player and you don't get to the heights he did without having that inner drive and determination. He'll have gone in to this to replicate what he did as a player. But it's a different ball game. You don't get handed anything now because of what you did as a player. I was asked a question this week about my connection with here. It will quickly run out if I don't win games of football. It will quickly run out the same way for Frank and for Dean (Smith) at Aston Villa. It's the same for all of us."
That was probably before 'Frank Lampards Derby County' dominated the media.
He's probably just fed up with it as much as we are.

Didn’t come across to me that CW was pissed off with the questions. Just answered what was asked. Think everybody’s reading too much into a newbie doing the interview.
Thought CW came across professional and thought the questions asked by the newbie were fair enough even though some could have been put across better.
The Maguire comment was an attempt at breaking the ice and what’s wrong with asking about Lampard and Derby County?
I’m interested in what CW really thinks as you can bet your life it pees him off ‘star names’ like Lampard walk into top jobs based on nothing other than being a top player in the PL.
Chris Wilder has done it the hard way and earned where he is now, Lampard has walked into it being a name.
If I were Wilder I’d have thoughts on that, and for me nowt wrong with a journalist trying to find out what they are.
I just think the new guy asks some stupid questions that's all
There’s a way to answer a question even if you can’t give your true feelings on a subject. So it wasn’t a dead end questionAgree with your Lampard points but Wilder is hardly going to come out to the press and say what he thinks (I'd imagine broadly similar to what most of us think) so it just makes it a dead end question.
That's unfortunate though because I bet his rant would be hilarious.
Maybe get him after a few Peronis.
How many good interviews do you need to get 3 points? One of the worse interviews I've heard in a long long time. Absolutely dire from this new lad. Raise your game kidda.
I was referring to the interviewer. How many good interviews do you need to get 3 points?
