Just my point being we can't look plainly for goals, and similarly can't have Lavery as our 4th choice.

For what it's worth Baldock and Wells would likely walk into our first team, relegating McGoldrick to 4th choice as it stands.
 
Wells isn’t for me. Says it all there’s only QPR Who are after him. It’s a big risk to sign someone who didn’t play last year.

Saw Baldock a lot for Brighton, just don’t think he’s an improvement. I wouldn’t have moaned if we had signed him I suppose. Maybe if he was still available now, with our options reducing, we’d have considered him.

As for ‘proven’, I suppose anyone who ever scored a Championship goal could be brought within that definition if you were daft enough.

Neither Wells nothing special 45/144 or Baldock’s pretty unimpressive 33/136 drive me to the point where I am purple-faced and bursting blood vessels at the crass stupidity of our manager not pursuing them in accordance with my personal wishes.

Not really. They still pay them in t'owd money up there. I heard he was on half-a-crown a week and a farthing per goal.

Is it not a bigger risk to sign (allegedly) sign someone who hasn't had a pre season and is still injured in Hogan?
 
Seriously though, I'd have liked Wells over anyone realistically mentioned so far. Sure there's a reason we weren't in for him though.

He hasn't had a pre season. He will take months to get up to speed.

Your comparing fans forum talk to paper talk. Can only really comment when we have that silly video of new signing confirmation. I agree with what your saying though.
 



With QPR now having about 1/5th of the strikers in the championship... Would love to see us get Freeman, and utilise either him or Woodburn in a false 9 or striker role sometimes?

Because he has potential, when fit.

Because Gallagher, Hogan, Nugent, Waghorn, Hemed, and all the other umpteen names banded about clearly weren't coming to the Lane.
 
I’m a little annoyed we haven’t tried to sign him. He would be ideal in my opinion.

QPR seem skint to me so we can’t have been interested in him. If we were I don’t see how they can afford to sign him and we can’t.
 
Could this be a Didsy-esque signing for the PL? Not pulled up many trees recently in his career but there's definitely potential, looks like he's been a bit unlucky at Burnley and might have a point to prove.... only 1 year left on his deal so i'd imagine he'd be available for a cut-price
